The Petite Park in Kallang Wave Mall is a children’s indoor play space dedicated to early childhood learning and development. Having previously occupied spaces in Changi City Point and City Square Mall, The Petite Park is not new to the local indoor playground scene.
Designed to provide children less than 130 cm in height – or under 7 years old – an imaginative, challenging, and safe environment in which to play and explore, the Petite Park is located just outside Kallang Wave Mall, facing OCBC Square.
Since my wee 22 month old daughter is far too young for this weekend’s F1 action, I figured she can make do with this lesser known indoor playground. How, pray tell? Well, read on for more!
Burning Up the F1 Tracks
Brightly lit, clean and inviting, The Petite Park is just as its name suggests. Judge not a book by its cover as this cozy play space is packed to the brim with activities, while managing to not overwhelm. It’s just right for babies, toddlers, and children who are prone to sensory stimulation overload.

When we stepped in, my eyes were drawn to the glossy black race track that runs through the playground and the race car themed ball pit – how befitting the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix weekend! So very slightly sloping, my daughter had such fun zipping up and down the mini race track in her choice of Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. When she was done having me push her around in the car, out she hopped for a runabout – lucky she had on anti-slip socks as that race track is smooth! Something to bear in mind, mummies and daddies!
Every activity in The Petite Park, from the bouncy castle to the trampolines and rock wall, is soft or foam-padded, and very toddler-friendly, read: super manageable. Adult supervision at all times is required of course, but I was glad I could simply step back and watch my daughter enjoy herself. It’s a refreshing change from having to commando crawl after my toddler and be the big kid in some other indoor playgrounds!
A Petite World of Pretense
The Petite Park has various quiet play stations, such as a mini kitchen, a LEGO wall, and an awesome train table. Featuring natural and eco-friendly wooden toys, soft building blocks, and LEGO bricks, your child can pretend play to his heart’s content. There’s even a reading nook set up by the train table, complete with books, pillows, and a teepee.
While the children are enjoying their tea or whipping up some pancakes, get comfy with your mummy friends on the beanbags and cushions littered around the play space. Enjoy a semblance of a catch up knowing that your children are safe and having a great time!
As we were at The Petite Park on a weekday, the pretend play stations were expectedly quiet. On the weekends when it does get busy however, I would imagine that it could be quite lovely for the children to mingle and play nicely together.
Visiting The Petite Park, Indoor Playground at Kallang Wave Mall
A return to The Petite Park is definitely in order as I loved that it didn’t intimidate my daughter, and I wasn’t afraid of older or taller children bowling her over. Watching her enthusiastically and independently explore the play space on her own was proof that she felt perfectly safe. I’d recommend this playground to parents of babies who are crawling for that matter.
Although the space is far too small for a cafe of any sort, there is a high chair and some stools by the shoe rack at the entrance if your child needs a quick snack or a drink before you leave. Otherwise, there’s always some sort of seating in OCBC Square which The Petite Park faces.
