If you’re into fairground rides, then the Yishun Beacon Playground will certainly resonate with you. The children’s playground features a play structure that resembles a two-storey carousel ride – and even comes with the horses for kids to hop onboard and imagine that they are going for ride, spinning round and round.

Yishun Beacon is a BTO that can be found between Yishun Community Hospital and Yishun Avenue 2.

As you approach the Yishun Beacon Playground, you will certainly be struck by how much it resembles a fairground ride.

Just like the two-storey carousel rides at large carnivals, the playground structure also has two levels.

At the bottom level, you will find a series of carousel spots where kids can climb onboard as if they are riding a carousel.

There is an individual horse seat, as well as other gallopers that can accommodate up to two kids at a time.

carriage

Just like on a real carousel, there is even a carriage for those who don’t wish to climb onto a horse.

Unfortunately, the horses don’t spin around – so kids will have to make do with play pretending.

What does spin around is a tall and narrow spinner. They can go for a spin on it while on it while hanging on tight.

When ready to explore more of the Yishun Beacon carousel playground, kids can make their way up a netted ramp to the upper level.

Here, there are climbing ropes with flower-themed niches that they can climb on top of, all while looking down at those playing below.

The second level of the Yishun Beacon Carousel Playground also has two slides that kids can use to make their way back down to the ground.

Just nearby, older kids can scale up a vertical playground with pastel hues. Climbing inside, they can follow the ribbon that leads to the top of the vertical playground, where a yellow enclosed tube slide awaits.

Need to expend more energy? A bouncy trampoline can also be found at this section of the Yishun Beacon Playground, along with a standing see-saw for kids to play going up and down.

You would think that is all, but on the rooftop of the adjacent multi-storey car park, you can find a third playground.

Take the lift up to the top of the car park for a playground that caters to younger children. This one has a pond theme and there is even a gree sitting see saw that is designed to look like a little green frog.
