From 23 November to 18 December 2026, your child can explore the world beyond English at the British Council’s 2026 year-end holiday camps. Perfect for preschool, primary and secondary students, the camps cover themes ranging from animals and friendships for younger ones to debating and presenting skills for older students.
The British Council’s Year-end Holiday Camps 2026: Explore the World Beyond English
A strong command of English and the ability to communicate well are essential skills in life. English language mastery allows children to be more confident academically and socially – whether it is understanding Math problems, grasping Science concepts or simply communicating ideas to their teachers and peers.
Not only does British Council’s Year-end Holiday Camps give children’s language skills a boost, but they are also designed to equip children with 21st century competencies needed for academic and future success.
Each week-long camp features an exciting theme that allows children to develop their written and spoken skills while building their knowledge of the world around them.
Run by internationally qualified, experienced and professional teachers, the camps are packed with hands-on experiences, including games, crafts, group research projects, experiments and presentations. There are also plenty of opportunities for children to collaborate and communicate with their teachers and newfound friends.
Early Years
At the Early Years Holiday Camp (14 to 18 Dec), preschoolers will explore the theme “Where We Live”. From understanding the rooms around the home to learning about houses found around the world, the camp will get children seeing the everyday in new light.
Young learners will get to participate in sensory activities like watering plants, listen and enjoy lively stories, design 3D rooms and even build a miniature town – making the camp especially interactive and fun.
Primary 1 & 2
Primary 1 and 2 children have four different themes to choose from at the year-end camps.
In the “My World” camp (23 to 27 Nov), they will get to learn about the people and places that make up their world, diving into themes of family, friends, neighbourhoods and schools. The following week, the “Getting Along” camp (30 Nov to 4 Dec) explores friendships and what it means to communicate in different situations through role-play and creative activities.
Children who love animals will have fun discovering the fascinating world of baby elephants, dolphins, bears and more at the “Animal Stories” camp (7 to 11 Dec), while in “Wings and Things” (14 to 18 Dec), children will explore birds, insects and human flight through fact files and hands-on activities.
Primary 3 & 4
Holiday camps for Primary 3 and 4 children cover themes like “Where We Live” (23 to 27 Nov), an exploration of maps, directions and how to describe places clearly, and “The Environment” (30 Nov to 4 Dec), where children will examine environmental problems and practical ways to tackle them.
“Sports and Games” (7 to 11 Dec) is based on sports from around the world, with children developing the language to describe sports, express opinions, give advice and explain rules. “Amazing Animals” (14 to 18 Dec) investigates the world of predators, unusual creatures and animal stories through fiction and non-fiction texts.
Primary 5 & 6
Upper Primary children get to develop their creative writing skills (23 to 27 Nov) and debating and presentation skills (30 Nov to 4 Dec) at the year-end camps. There will also be camps focused on fiction and non-fiction writing skills (7 to 11 Dec) and developing speaking and writing skills using real-world topics like advertising and digital citizenship (14 to 18 Dec).
Secondary 1 to 4
The British Council Year-end Holiday Camps for secondary school students focus on speaking or writing. Learners will explore topics such as urbanisation, concepts of coincidence, write personal recounts and anecdotes and more.
