Taking place just outside JAPAN RAIL CAFE, the 2026 edition also arrives at a meaningful juncture as Singapore and Japan commemorate SJ60, the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Themed ‘Journey into Culture’, this year’s free Japan Rail Fair looks beyond Japan’s familiar destinations, spotlighting its lesser-known corners with a focus on Eastern Japan, from Kanto to Tohoku and beyond.

There will also be various talks held throughout the event.

Community Puzzle Wall

Community Puzzle Wall

Carrying the spirit of ‘Co-Imagine, Co-Create, Co-Evolve’, The Japan Rail Fair 2026 also debuts a new Community Puzzle Wall, inviting visitors to collect, create and connect as they delve into Japan’s diverse regions.

Measuring approximately 5m by 2.5m and made up of more than 300 individual puzzle tiles, the mural will gradually take shape over the fair duration.

Each day, the first 100 eligible Lucky Draw participants will receive the opportunity to contribute a piece, with hundreds of individual contributions coming together to complete the artwork.

Eki Stamp Rally and Layered Stamp Trail

Eki Stamp Rally

The fair also brings back its popular Eki Stamp Rally, where collectors can collect custom designed stamps across the booths and stand a chance to win attractive prizes.

Stamp collectors will have plenty to look forward to with two distinct stamp activities inviting visitors to explore the fair from different perspectives.

Back by popular demand, the Eki Stamp Rally sees visitors collect six unique stamps from designated zones across 17 booths to qualify for the Daily Lucky Draw at 7 pm.

There are prizes ranging from rail passes and hotel stays to a luxury cruise voyage for two in a Midship Suite onboard ASUKA worth more than S$10,000 and sponsored by Prestige by Chan Brothers in collaboration with ASUKA CRUISE.

Layered Stamp Trail

Alongside this, the Layered Stamp Trail takes visitors on a separate four-stamp trail across four stations, with each stamp revealing another layer of a hidden illustration.

300 goodie bags will also be given away over the three-day fair to Eki Stamp Rally participants, with each bag including the limited-edition Event Stamp Passbook to document their stamp-collecting journey.

Designed as both a keepsake and activity companion, the passbook allows visitors to collect up to 18 stamps across the fair, including stamps from the 17 booths and the special layered stamp stations.

The limited-edition Event Stamp Passbook ($3) will also be available for purchase at the fair.

Food Stalls

From premium sake to Hokkaido dairy and fresh Japanese fruit, TJRF 2026 brings together a selection of regional food, beverages and produce from across Japan.

Making a comeback is HINEMOS, with its range of premium Japanese sake and YOTSUBA MILK PRODUCTS, showcasing dairy products from Hokkaido.

Other tastings across the fair include

  • Fresh Japanese Pears at JR Fruits Park Sendai ARAHAMA. Grown right at the park’s own orchard and harvested just days before the event, these pears are enjoyed at peak freshness – crisp, sweet and juicy.
  • Wasabi-flavoured snacks at Izu Peninsula Geopark and Tourism Bureau & JR EAST Shonan-Izu Business Headquarters. Mildly sweet and spicy, wasabi is a local specialty of the Izu Peninsula, enjoyed here in various forms.
  • Regional snacks at Access Tohoku.
  • Sake and fugu at Yamaguchi Prefecture. Yamaguchi Prefecture is sometimes called ‘Japan’s pufferfish capital’, and this delicacy is a rare treat prepared exclusively by certified chefs.
