The British Council’s English enrichment courses are carefully designed to develop language proficiency through age-appropriate activities and engaging lessons.

Early Years (3 to 6 years old)

Early Years (3 to 6 years old)

Young learners are introduced to new vocabulary and grammar through Learning Time with Timmy, an engaging programme featuring the much-loved character from Aardman Animations. Children build a strong foundation in English while developing early literacy and phonics skills, preparing them for a confident transition to Primary 1.

Lower Primary (7 to 9 years old)

Early Years (3 to 6 years old)

At the Lower Primary level, students build confidence in using English through activities that strengthen literacy, writing and speaking skills. Lessons encourage curiosity, foster a love of reading and help children become thoughtful, independent learners.

Upper Primary (10 to 12 years old)

As students prepare for the PSLE, the curriculum focuses on strengthening both spoken and written English. Learners explore a variety of texts to enhance comprehension, participate in collaborative learning and develop critical thinking skills that support both academic achievement and empowering them with 21st century skills for lifelong success.

Secondary (13 to 17 years old)

Secondary (13 to 17 years old)

The British Council’s Secondary English course emphasises developing a global mindset. Students practise critical thinking, resilience and deep reading skills as they are exposed to current world issues and real-life tasks. This allows them to sharpen their communication skills while seeing the immediate relevance of what they have learnt.

The course also supports students in preparing for the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) English Language examination, equipping them with essential language and exam skills for academic success.

Lessons combine engaging classroom learning with interactive independent study, helping students become effective communicators who are well prepared for future academic and professional success.
