Located at Level 1 of UE Square, WHUCHU Korean Dining Restaurant goes through a metamorphosis throughout the day.

At lunch, you can enjoy Ssam-Bap Sets, pairing your choice of meats with Korean greens. Then, in the evening and all day on weekends, the restaurant’s warm wood interior fills up with the smells of aged Jeju BBQ with Jeju pork, LA galbi and wagyu grilled at the table.

−86°C Frozen Beer Experience

−86°C Frozen Beer Experience

After 5 pm, WHUCHU rolls out its −86°C Frozen Beer Experience, dubbed as Singapore’s coolest beer.

You can choose from three types of beer – Draught Cass, Krombacher Pils or Krombacher Dark – in either a regular mug or a frozen mug (from $8, 300 ml). The frozen mug comes out frosted from a −86°C freezer.

We would highly recommend the frozen mug. It was so cold that the beer at the bottom of the mug appeared to freeze momentarily and the beer tasted absolutely crisp and refreshing.

Matcha Makgeolli

Another special item that they have on the drinks menu at WHUCHU is flavoured Makgeollis. Choose from either Matcha Makgeolli ($38) or Ube Makgeolli ($38), made with 100% real matcha and 100% real ube respectively.

We had the Matcha Makgeolli and enjoyed the pairing of matcha with the creaminess of the rice wine.

Of course, drinks have to be accompanied with food and WHUCHU has a menu of special bites available after 5 pm as well.

2 Kinds Fried Chicken Platter

We had the 2 Kinds Fried Chicken Platter ($20) which features chicken gizzard and soy-garlic breast, served with wasabi mayo. The crunchy chicken paired perfectly with the ice cold beer to complete the chimaek experience.

Chicken Pancake with Leek Salad

The Chicken Pancake with Leek Salad was another hearty dish, drizzled with creamy sauce and slices of chillies for a mix of heat, sweetness and savouriness.

The Bulgogi Potato Fries ($12) is a variant on the usual platter of fries and came with Korean-style bulgogi beef for extra indulgence.

Other items on the bar bites menu include Fried Sweet Potato Sticks ($5), Sweet Corn Pancake ($10) and Big Chilli Fries with Tzatzike ($12) which we had tried at WHUCHU’s sister restaurant GOCHU and absolutely loved.

The WHUCHU Beer Garden is also a spot that invites you hang out and stay for a while.

Toss a beanbag into a cornhole board, or take turns playing wooden shuffleboard.

The outdoor seating area is so welcoming to pets that there is even an AQUA pet water station – and they get to drink on the house!
