Frasers Centrepoint Trust (FCT) and the National Library & Archives Board (NLB) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop The HomePage @ Causeway Point, Singapore’s first-of-its-kind social and reading destination.

Expected to open in 2028, The HomePage @ Causeway Point is set to house one of Singapore’s largest publicly accessible collections of pre-loved books from the NLB, as well as one of the most extensive showcases of Singapore Literature (Sing Lit) and local authors.

Under the MOU, FCT and NLB will collaborate on the planning, design and implementation of the public space, including its literary collections, community programmes and visitor experiences.

This activates shared spaces and making books more accessible to all.

32,000 Square Feet Space Inspired By Home

32,000 Square Feet Space Inspired By Home

The HomePage @ Causeway Point will span over 32,000 square feet across a striking triple-volume space on parts of the mall’s sixth and seventh floors.

Inspired by the idea of home, it will offer a welcoming and accessible space where visitors can connect, recharge and discover new experiences.

It also serves as a starting point for more people to discover books and the joy of reading, and build a lifelong reading habit, in line with NLB’s ReadSG initiative.

One of Singapore’s Largest Publicly Accessible Collections of Pre-loved Books

One of Singapore’s Largest Publicly Accessible Collections of Pre-loved Books

The HomePage @ Causeway Point will house one of Singapore’s largest publicly accessible collections of pre-loved books from NLB’s libraries in English and Mother Tongue languages, as well as one of the country’s most extensive showcases of Sing Lit and local authors.

The use of pre-loved books will promote sustainability, encourage reading and strengthen the community’s social and cultural fabric.

Much like the Sit-n-Read nodes of today, visitors can browse and take home the pre-loved books without borrowing them, allowing them to explore titles at their own pace.

To ensure more members of the community can benefit from the collection, patrons are encouraged to share books they have enjoyed with others.

Dedicated Sing Lit showcase

The dedicated Sing Lit showcase gives prominence to Singapore stories and will feature a diverse selection of Sing Lit titles, alongside thematic exhibitions and programmes.

NLB will also collaborate with the National Arts Council to curate the Sing Lit space, showcasing literary works and fostering greater appreciation of Singapore’s literary heritage.

Social Hub

Designed as a social hub, it brings together reading, dining and social experiences in a welcoming space for all Singaporeans, visitors and tourists. Visitors can enjoy food and beverages within the community reading space, alongside interactive experiences and family-friendly amenities such as children’s play zones.

It will also house a purpose-built indoor theatre and screening space, creating a cinematic sanctuary for films, author talks, storytelling sessions and cultural programmes.

Homage to Singapore’s heritage

Paying homage to Singapore’s heritage, The HomePage @ Causeway Point draws inspiration from architectural and cultural touchpoints that have shaped generations of Singaporeans.

Its design elements will reference the iconic Teck Whye HDB blocks, the former National Library building at Stamford Road and the bold geometric forms of Singapore’s 1970s Brutalist architecture.

Reimagined through a contemporary lens, these influences come together to create a distinctly Singaporean environment where stories of home, community and identity converge.

Through its blend of literary experiences, social spaces and locally inspired design, The HomePage @ Causeway Point aims to evoke nostalgia while fostering connections across generations.

Part of Causeway Point’s Upcoming Asset Enhancement Plans

The HomePage @ Causeway Point is part of the mall’s broader transformation with its upcoming AEI, scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2027 and complete by the end of 2029. The AEI will reposition Causeway Point as a regional destination offering a wider spectrum of retail, dining, lifestyle and community experiences.

We look forward to the opening of The HomePage @ Causeway Point in 2028 and the mix of reading, literary experiences, and community programmes it will provide in an engaging space
