WonderGround: A Journey Beneath Your Feet at the One Holland Village location is a brand new immersive play environment that families with young children can explore.

Open from 19 April 2026 till 31 March 2027, WonderGround at The Artground One Holland Village is a thoughtfully designed space that invites babies and toddlers to step, or rather crawl, into a hidden world beneath the soil.

A Sensory Playground Beneath the Surface at the WonderGround Play Space

WonderGround: A Sensory Playground Beneath the Surface

Designed by local artist Aida Sa’ad, WonderGround reimagines what lies underground as an imaginative, tactile environment tailored for children aged three and under.

Within the space, little ones become “burrow buddies”, moving through gently winding tunnels, weaving past root-like structures and discovering cavern-inspired pockets along the way.

The environment encourages them to explore at their own pace

The environment encourages them to explore at their own pace, whether that means crawling through a passageway, pausing to touch different textures, or simply observing the space around them.

Rather than presenting structured activities, WonderGround feels like an open-ended landscape for discovery.

Babies can move freely and safely, while toddlers begin to engage in simple imaginative play, quietly building an awareness of the natural systems beneath their feet.

What stands out is how intentionally the space has been created for very young children. The scale, materials and sensory elements all feel carefully considered for small hands and developing senses.

The environment offers a safe and enclosed setting where children can move independently, while still remaining close to their caregivers.

Sensory elements are introduced in a gentle way

Sensory elements are introduced in a gentle way, creating moments of curiosity without overwhelming younger visitors. It is the kind of space where there is no single way to play, which makes it especially suited for babies and toddlers exploring at their own rhythm.

they build body awareness by navigating openings

As little ones move through the space, they build body awareness by navigating openings, adjusting their movements and gaining confidence in how they move. The tactile elements encourage sensory engagement, helping them make sense of textures, shapes and spatial relationships in an intuitive way.

The experience also invites moments of interaction, whether it is playing alongside other children

The experience also invites moments of interaction, whether it is playing alongside other children, responding to visual cues in the environment, or engaging with caregivers within the space. Over time, returning visitors may also encounter artist-led programmes and baby-friendly performances that add new dimensions to how the space can be experienced.

Beyond being a place for exploration, WonderGround also serves as a platform for artistic experimentation. The space is designed not just for young audiences, but also for artists to reimagine how arts experiences can be created and presented for early childhood.

As part of a residency supported by Teater Ekamatra, Aida Sa’ad will continue to develop programmes within WonderGround. These include baby-focused experiences as well as a performance that will take place later in the year, all set within the same immersive environment.
