The Artground @ One Holland Village officially opened on 3 February 2024 providing families with children between ages of 0 to 9 with a new space to explore the arts at the One Holland Village mall

Located in a quiet space tucked away at one end of mall, The Artground @ One Holland Village is designed to encourage everyone in the family to engage in the arts.

This is the second location for the arts charity. It’s first location at Goodman Arts Centre will continue to serve families in the East of Singapore.

The opening play installation at The Artground @ One Holland Village is A Curious Garden. This is rather poetic as A Curious Garden was the original installation when the Goodman Arts Centre premises opened in July 2017.

At A Curious Garden, kids can jump up on toadstools and dance with the garden gnomes

Spot reimagined rocks in a garden, sit on logs and create your own adventure by going on a colourful trail of discovery.

There is also a treehouse where kids can hideaway or hold their own secret meetings.

Inside a geodesic dome, fluffy cushions invite kids to simply hang out and enjoy the aesthetics of the space at The Artground @ One Holland Village.

The Artground takes inspiration from Loris Malaguzzi approach of celebrating children’s hundreds of languages; of speaking, of playing, of marvelling, of wondrous new ways of being.

Weekly Arts-based Curriculum

The Artground @ One Holland Village will be conducting weekly art-based curriculum for little ones, drop-in programmes for grandparents and grandchildren, or weekend programmes for parent-child pairs.

The Arts-based Sensory Storytelling Curriculum, designed for children aged 18 months to 6 years, immerses them in a world of creativity.

It blends literacy, creativity, and language skills through storytelling and visual interpretations, guided by a sensory-driven methodology. The Artground also aims to nurture fine motor skills, foster social-emotional competencies, and cultivate an interest in the arts.

Collaborating with Partners

The Artground’s expansion to One Holland Village, a venue approved by the developers under URA’s Community/Sport Facilities Scheme (CSFS), stands as a testament to its commitment to growth and sustainability.

It will be working with new partners in its CSFS space, establishing connections with the community and local partners, fostering increased vibrancy in the arts space and programming.

Working with artisans and businesses in the specific sectors will help to amplify the diversity of The Artground’s programmes, offering a unique blend of creativity and lifestyle arts experiences to a broader audience.

Examples of collaborations to come include with businesses like 2am:dessertbar, The Alley Group, The MerryMen Works, doob bean bags and Little Blossom.

Ms. Luanne Poh, Executive Director of The Artground, said, “We’re thrilled to bring The Artground to One Holland Village, a limitless hub of creativity. While our primary focus remains nurturing young minds through art, we’re equally enthusiastic about introducing intergenerational programmes. The Artground at One Holland Village warmly invites families, children, and seniors to celebrate creativity, learning, and forging meaningful connections.”
