It is the second weekend of September and the weekend before school reopens. For those looking for things to this weekend in Singapore, 12 and 13 September 2020, here are some suggestions of activities to enjoy.
Things To Do This Weekend In Singapore: 12 & 13 September 2020
1. Virtual Kampong Tour
Join a ‘live’ virtual tour around Kampung Sungei Durian and Kampung Surau at Pulau Ubin. It will conducted by Syazwan Majid who traces his roots back to Pulau Ubin. The tour, part of this year’s Pesta Ubin, will be held on 12 September 2020 from 10 am to 1 pm on Wan’s Ubin Journal Facebook page. Get more information here.
2. Visit the OCBC Skyway

SANTA'S TOY FACTORY: Festive Workshops, Christmas Jingles & a Chance to Win a Car!
Gardens by the Bay’s OCBC Skyway reopened to the public earlier this week. You can now take a walk amongst the Supertrees. Visit in the evening to enjoy the twinkling lights and music at Supertree Grove. Save by booking using the Gardens by the Bay app or take advantage of the current ticketing promotion. Or, discover more suspension bridges around Singapore.
3. Games in Chinatown
Head down to Chinatown for a weekend of bracelet-making, microgreens planting and more at Sago Street from 11 to 13 September 2020. There will be old school games like hopscotch and snakes & ladders for kids to play. You can also visit the Tin Tin Shop while you are there (it has extended its lease) or go in search of murals around Chinatown.
4. Go Cycling at Jurong Lake Gardens
A new bike rental shop has opened on the fringe of Jurong Lake Gardens. It is great reason to hop on a bike and head out for a ride to explore the many different nooks and crannies of Singapore’s third national garden this weekend, 12 and 13 September 2020.
5. Virtual Adventure Quest
Go on a hunt for code words in three Little Day Out stories, submit them and stand a chance to win tickets to Bouncy Paradise, Singapore’s largest inflatable playground. Locate a park with a “bright star” that shines in the day time, a park with hippos and a park with a view of Chinatown from a hill. Find out how to participate and win here.
6. Go on a Playground Odyssey
If you want to check out some outdoor playgrounds with the kids, here are a few suggestions. Visit the Circle Green double dome playground in Woodlands. There is also the Everspring Park in Yishun which is springing out with fun. Or go Alice in Wonderland at Dawson.
7. Get “Foot-On” at the Planet or Plastic? Exhibition
ArtScience Museum’s newest exhibition on the impact of plastic opens this weekend on 12 September 2020. It traces the history of plastic from invention in the mid-1800s to the present day, and how it has affected the animals of the world’s oceans. The exhibition also includes an Interactive Space where visitors get to use their feet. Find out more.
On 12 and 13 September, Centre for a Responsible Future, Swapaholic and Singapore Sustainable Gallery have joined forces to present #Swap4Earth.
