The dynamics and fun of a large group are different – your kids get to socialise with other kids, and hey, you get to hang out with people your own age, too. There is strength in numbers! Now, the question is who is going to come up with the big group outing ideas.
The little red dot may be a tiny island, but there’s enough room – and activities – for group outings.

Zoos and Animals
Another top hit with kids – animals. Our world-class zoos are worth repeat visits, even for locals. Stay updated with zoo and animal-related events here, so you know when’s the best time to visit with your big group of friends.
Eat, Of Course!
Besides being a national past-time, eating is something you gotta do at some point in time during your group outing. Opt for family-friendly waterfront dining or restaurants with playscapes and playgrounds for the kids (see here and here). Don’t forget to eat ice-cream. Check out our Ultimate Guide to the best ice-cream shops in Singapore, as well as the most unusual ice-cream flavours you can find here.
Go to a Farm
Visit a farm or a farmer’s market together. Bollywood Veggies in Kranji is a great place to eat, play, walk, and get up close with the earth that is bursting with life – lots to do and teach our kids here.
Or head to a fun farmer’s market, and explore fresh produce and artisanal goodies. Yes, #supportlocal!
Cook and Bake
Go for a cooking or baking workshop together. Kid-friendly kitchens that offer masterclasses for big groups (child and parents) include Expat Kitchen, ToTT Junior MasterChef, Culinary On SG, and Cooking Magic. Or make this super-easy superfood homemade chocolate at a friend’s home. All you need are three ingredients! And then there is this mind-boggling chocolate curry maggi mee you might want to try putting together.
Themed Food Crafts
You could also organised a themed food crafting get-together. Like this bunch of heart-shaped food ideas, for example. It’s not always Valentine’s Day, but you get the drift – think themes like animals, shapes, or colours. To get more ideas for edible crafts like marshmallow sculptures, see here and here .
There are plenty of museums to visit in Singapore.
Explore a virtual forest at Artscience Museum’s permanent installation Into the Wild, Surviving the Japanese Occupation: War and its Legacies at the new gallery at the former Ford Factory, wander through a digital forest at the Glass Rotunda at National Museum of Singapore, or take a vintage flight to the future at the Singapore Air Force Museum.
Walks and Trails
Reconnect with nature or embark on a heritage trail. Whether it is spectacular skywalks, the best natural peaks to explore, or a nature park filled with wildlife, there plenty of picks in Singapore. Heritage trails will take your big group outing to the next level.
Learn a new sport together. Tired of the same old, same old? Try these family-friendly unusual sports in Singapore. Take up unicycling, attempt bossaball (where bouncy castle meets bossanova meets volleyball), stand-up paddling, or take a leap with a trampoline park. Find out more here.
