“I Can Be A Caring Commuter Hero!” Art Competition 2023

Take time to join an art competition by LTA and stand to win an iPad! Every act of kindness and compassion helps make journeys friendlier and more pleasant for all. Show how commuters can be caring and create a pleasant journey for all onboard public transport in an artwork. Young artists ages 7 to 12 can create their artwork and be one of the top three winners to win an iPad!

Little Caring Commuter Heroes can consider the following scenarios when designing their entry:

  • A commuter with an invisible medical condition
  • A senior commuter
  • A commuter with a young child
  • A commuter with mobility challenges

RSAF55 Open House

RSAF55 Open House

RSAF Open House is back after seven years. This year’s Open House commemorates the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s 55th anniversary and will be held on Saturday and Sunday 9, 10 September at Paya Lebar Air Base. 

It is free to enter and open to all from 9 am to 6 pm. Expect aerial displays, static displays of aircraft and other military hardware plus a chance to get on a flight! It is a great activity to do on the last weekend of the September school holidays 2023.

398.2 Storytelling Festival 2023

The annual 398.2 Storytelling Festival will launch on 2 September at Woodlands Regional Library, just in time for the September school holidays in Singapore. Participate in sessions taking place from 1 pm to 3 pm.

The theme for 398.2 Storytelling Festival for 2023 is Spinning Tales – participants can look forward to collectively weaving a colourful tapestry with many different threads with 18 sessions tailored to different audiences.

Bugis+ Studio Ghibli Wonderland

Head to Bugis+ during the school holidays for all things Studio Ghibli – exclusive merch and novelties, gigantic Ghibli inflatables, Ghibli-themed photo backdrops, free screenings of well-loved Ghibli movies and more.

LEGOLAND Malaysia Splash Carnival

Activities at the LEGOLAND Water Park Splash Carnival

Head to the Splash Carnival at LEGOLAND Water Park that is right across the causeway. The festival will be packed with water activities suitable for all including a LEGO Boat Race, Limbo Rock and Hula Hoop Battle, Aqua Zumba and Just Dance Wavepool plus Aquatic Symphony with Splash Carnival Parade and dance shows every Friday and Saturday!

The Splash Carnival at LEGOLAND Water Park is on till 17 September.

LKY100 The Boy Who Became Prime Minister Exhibition

LKY100 The Boy Who Became Prime Minister Exhibition

Children’s Museum Singapore’s latest exhibition, LKY100 – The Boy Who Became Prime Minister introduces children to Singapore’s founding Prime Minister. It addresses questions that kids may have such as “What was his childhood like?”, “Did he travel to many places?” and even seemingly innocent ones like “Did he have a private jet to take him around?”

Mr Lee’s story is presented through a cabinet of curiosities; information is presented in little snippets and through some of his personal artefacts that kids can get upclose to.

#Childrenforchildren Family Carnival

Head to The Arts House from 9 to 10 September for Art Wonderland’s first ever fundraising initiative for its sister charity Curious Thoughts Giving.

There will be a family carnival consisting of storytelling, exciting performances, raffle lucky draws, play invitations and parent-and-child programmes by Art Wonderland, Thann Singapore and SALTT Workshop. The highlight is a children’s art auction showcase created by students of Art Wonderland, in support for Curious Thoughts Giving’s beneficiaries.

Meshminds 3.0:ArtxTechforGood

The free exhibition at ArtScience Museum is about art, technology and sustainability. It aims to educate kids and visitors of all ages on the importance of protecting our culture and environment in the digital age.

One experience at the exhibition is Sky Farm Island, the world’s first Roblox game which teaches players about sustainable farming. Through this game, families can grow their own food in a vertical farm located in Singapore while learning more about vertical farming and how it can help address issues such as food scarcity and climate change.
