The Ngee Ann City National Lion Dance Championships 2026 takes over the outdoor Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza from 7 to 12 September with different lion dance troupes taking on each other in a battle to be crowned the champions.
Watch talented teams go head-to-head in two categories – Traditional and Freestyle.

The Traditional category is what you would normally expect from a lion dance performance. However, the Freestyle category is where the troupes have the liberty to get creative and let their imagination run wild.
Nonetheless, in both categories, you look forward to spectacular performances that combine skill, agility and artistry in one of Singapore’s most exciting lion dance competitions.
Competition Schedule
The lion dance action at the Ngee Ann City National Lion Dance Championships 2026 takes place from 6 pm onwards.
Here is what you can expect:
- 7 September – Opening Ceremony and Freestyle Semi-Finals
- 8 September – Freestyle Semi-Finals
- 9 to 10 September – Traditional Finals
- 11 September – Freestyle Finals
- 12 September – Freestyle Finals and Prize Presentation Ceremony

Just a heads up that the competition is expected to draw a lot of crowds on Saturday when finals take place.
Lion Dance Competition at Ngee Ann City
Catch the 30th Ngee Ann City National Lion Dance Championships from 7 to 12 September 2026, 6 pm to around 10 pm at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza along Orchard Road.
