Arts@SBG: NAC-ExxonMobil Concert in the Gardens Series

24 June 2023, 6 pm to 7pm, Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage @ SBG

The Arts@SBG: NAC-ExxonMobil Concert in the Gardens series presents NovoBloco + Bloco Singapura.

Inspired by Syed Ahmad’s sojourn in Brazil, NovoBloco reflects his deep passion and mastery of Brazilian rhythms, combined with his eclecticism and verve.

Infusing pop and eccentric elements, NovoBloco brings musical ideas and inspiration to life on stage with a dynamic ensemble of musicians and collaborators, leading audiences on a truly soulful polyphonic and polyrhythmic experience.

This concert is part of the Arts@SBG NAC-ExxonMobil Concert in the Gardens series. Singapore Botanic Gardens is a part of the National Arts Council’s Arts and Culture Nodes Network.


Rockestra®

1 July 2023, 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm, Fort Canning Green at Fort Canning Park

Boogie the night away to your favourite ‘Dance Dance Retro’ hits at the 18th edition of the  NParks Concert Series in the Park: Rockestra®!

Sing and dance along to the well-loved songs from Retro Dance era performed by Enigma, Jive Talkin’ and SuperSonic with their energetic live performances. Enjoy a fun-filled evening with your family at Fort Canning Park, with Justin Misson returning to host the show.

A mysterious letter from a time traveller lands in your hands, beckoning you to embark on an epic quest through the winding paths of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park.

Armed with a well-worn map, you will uncover a trail of cryptic clues that are gateways to new revelations.

“The Time Traveller’s Garden” promises an expedition where time bends to your will and the legacies of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park unfold before your eyes. This will be a journey where discovery, wonder, and the beauty of nature intertwine.

Starting point: Botany Centre at Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Centre at Fort Canning Park.

A free shuttle bus service is available between Botany Centre at Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Centre at Fort Canning Park on 24, 25, 29 June, 1, 2 July 2023.

No registration is required for this drop-in activity, suitable for ages 5 and above. Children aged 12 years and below must be accompanied by adults.

Unleash your creativity at Build Your Own Miniature Garden, where you design and construct your own little dream garden. With colourful building blocks, cultivate vibrant flowers and charming pathways to form stunning miniature garden landscapes.

Every garden tells a story, and we can’t wait to see what story you’ll create. Let your imagination blossom with Build Your Own Miniature Garden – a world where building blocks become works of art.

No registration is required for this drop-in activity, suitable for ages 5 and above. Children aged 12 years and below must be accompanied by adults.

2 July 2023, 9 am to 6 pm, Fort Canning Centre at Fort Canning Park

Pay a visit to this marketplace that celebrates the convergence of heritage, botany and conscious creativity.

Amidst the marketplace, take part in a plant swap meet – an opportunity to engage in horticultural banter, trade stories of successful propagation, and expand your own collection while forging connections within the plant-loving community.
