From 5 to 13 September 2026, make your way to Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park Heritage Festival 2026 for nine days of activities, performances, tenant promotions and other experiences, and be immersed in the rich heritage of two of the most well-loved parks in Singapore.
There are also three new exhibitions being launched as part of the Singapore Botanic Gardens & Fort Canning Park Heritage Festival: “Funtastical World of Fungi”, “Hidden World of Creepy Crawlies of Singapore” and “Fort Canning Centre: A Century of Transformation”. These exhibitions provide a portal to hidden worlds that might be right under your noses.
In addition, there are multiple programmes taking place during the Heritage Festival, including concerts, guided tours, workshops, craft activities and more. Organise a family get-together to enjoy the weekend out at Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park.

Singapore Botanic Gardens & Fort Canning Park Heritage Festival 2026: Family Friendly Events
Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park are two of the most historic parks in Singapore. During the Singapore Botanic Gardens & Fort Canning Park Heritage Festival 2026, visitors can explore the parks and take a deeper dive into their past through exciting programmes and activities.
There will even be a free shuttle bus between Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park on the weekends, from 9 am to 10 pm, to make it easier for you to enjoy the myriad of programmes taking place.
3 Exhibitions Revealing Hidden World of Nature and History
Funtastical World of Fungi
At the CDL Green Gallery @ SBG Heritage Museum, step into the world of fungi. Neither plant nor animal, fungi belong in their own kingdom – Funga. The exhibition begins with an art exhibition that amplifies how fungi respirate.
Then learn all about how fungi grow, feed and reproduce, and be introduced to some common types of fungi found in Singapore.
There are also touchable exhibits that show research into how research is being done into the uses of fungi as materials and environmental restoration.
When night falls, a three-minute-long light and projection show, Fungi After Dark, will reveal a glowing network beneath the paths at the CDL Green Gallery Lawn.
The Funtastical World of Fungi is open from 5 September 2026 to 28 February 2027. Until 13 September, it will open till 10 pm.
Hidden World of Creepy Crawlies of Singapore
At the Fort Canning Centre in Fort Canning Park, you can discover the world of Singapore’s insects and arachnids on the third floor. Colour photographs unveil the dazzling colours and ways these tiny creatures camouflage themselves.
Accompanying the photographs are tanks with live specimens.

Fort Canning Centre: A Century of Transformation
At the lobby of the Fort Canning Centre, you can also view an exhibition that charts the transformation of the building as it turns 100 years old this year.
The Fort Canning Centre was built as a British Army barracks before being turned into a squash centre in the 1970s. It then took on an arts focus before eventually being used to house the Fort Canning Heritage Gallery.
On the third floor of the building, you can also view a display that shows the view from Fort Canning Centre in the 1950s and marvel at how much of the landscape has changed today.
The Fort Canning Centre: A Century of Transformation exhibition is open from 5 September 2026 to 31 March 2027.

Heritage Rally
5 to 13 September, Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park
Pick up a Heritage Rally passport and head off on an exploration of Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park. There are eight stamps to collect at Singapore Botanic Gardens and six stamps at Fort Canning Park. Complete either one to receive a special collectable, or complete both for a special prize. Passport and prizes available while stocks last.
This is best done on the Heritage Festival weekends, but can also be completed on weekdays with discovery panels.
The Heir: An Interactive Projection and Audio Quest
4 to 6 Sep, 7.30 pm to 10 pm, Spice Garden, Fort Canning Park
The Heir is an immersive projection-and-audio trail set in 14th-century Temasek. Visitors are invited to imagine that they have awakened as a young prince on Bukit Larangan, the sacred royal hill. For the first time, he is given real responsibility: to observe the harbour, listen to scouts, understand gifts and warnings from foreign envoys, and stand before the court as news of an external threat reaches the hill. SBG Night Tour
5, 6, 12, 13 Sep, 8 pm to 9 pm, Visitor Services Centre at Tanglin Gate, Singapore Botanic Gardens
Experience the beauty of Singapore Botanic Gardens at night on a Heritage Tour. Guides will take you on a journey through the Gardens’ 160-year history with highlights like the Bandstand and famous $5 Tembusu tree.
Register for the tours on 5 September, 6 September, 12 September or 13 September.
Crafting Botanical Soap and Spice Garden Tour
5 September, 10 am and 2.30 pm, Fort Canning Park
Join a workshop that combines natural crafting with a sensory garden experience! Begin with a guided tour through Fort Canning Park’s very own spice garden; then, learn to create your own biodegradable liquid soap using soap berries. Register for this workshop, suitable for 10 and above, taking place at 10 am and 2.30 pm.
Clay, Kings & Kilns: A Ceramic-Making Experience at the Forbidden Hill
6 September, 10 am and 2.30 pm
Craft your own ceramic piece and leave your mark with the kala head motif — a design drawn from a real artefact discovered on the hill. This experience will be guided by skilled instructors who will help you work with clay just as craftsmen did centuries ago, connecting your hands to a tradition that has endured through the ages. This is suitable for all skill levels and ages 9 and above. Register for this experience taking place at 10 am and 2.30 pm.
In a Day’s Work: Plant Cultivator

The Plant Resource Centre is where young plants are nurtured before they make their way into the ground. It undergoes an important acclimatisation process where it gradually adapts to outdoor conditions, under our specialised care and monitoring. In a Day’s Work: Heritage Core Horticulturist
12 Sep, Bandstand, Singapore Botanic Gardens
Join a horticulturist for a behind-the-scenes walk through the Singapore Botanic Garden’s Heritage Core and discover how its historic character is maintained as the living landscape continues to grow and change. Botanical Brushstrokes: Painting with Nature’s Colours and Spice Garden Tour
12 Sep, 10 am and 2.30 pm, Fort Canning Park
Discover the vibrant world of natural colours hidden within Fort Canning Park’s Spice Garden. Then, create original artwork using these natural dyes. This immersive experience combines art, nature, and history in a fun and memorable way. This experience is suitable for ages 5 and above. Register for the 10 am or 2.30 pm session.
Craft Drop-in Activities – The Spice Atelier
5 to 13 September, 10 am to 10 pm on weekends, and to 6 pm on weekdays.
Get crafty with four drop-in hands-on activities, which include painting the blooms of the Spice Garden, blending a fragrant spice pouch and more.
Guided Tours
There are also numerous guided tours that will be taking place at Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park during the Heritage Festival. These include tours of the SBC Heritage Museum, Nature Sketching in the Gardens, Learning Forest Tours, Heritage on the Hill Tours and more.

There will also be movie screenings held during the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park Heritage Festival.

Transport Available Between Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park
Take the free shuttle bus between Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Centre on the Heritage Festival weekends from 9 am to 10 pm. Buses run approximately every 15 to 20 minutes, with the last bus leaving at 9.40 pm.
The shuttle bus will stop at six stops: the Learning Forest Visitor Centre, the Botany Centre, the Nassim Visitor Centre, Botanic Gardens MRT, the Botanical Art Gallery and the Battlebox Visitor Centre at Fort Canning Park.
