Titans of the Past: Dinosaurs and Ice Age Mammals Reign at the Science Centre

Stomping into Science Centre Singapore from 25 October 2013 to 23 February 2014 is a new exhibition,Titans of the Past: Dinosaurs and Ice Age Mammals.

This latest exhibition at the Science Centre brings together two international travelling exhibitions from The Museum of the Rockies in Montana, USA and Aurea Exhibitions, Argentina in a single show at The Annexe building.

Highlights of the exhibition include real fossils and a skeleton cast of the Argentinosaurus measuring 36 metres in length and 7 metres in height.

The first segment of the exhibition, “The Growth and Behaviour of Dinosaurs”, is from The Museum of the Rockies (MOR) in Montana, USA and features animatronics from Kokoro in Japan. Here, visitors will be able to discover more about the work of Dr Jack Horner, one of the world’s leading paleontologists and consultant for Jurassic Park films, and his research team. On display will be valuable real fossils that include the largest T-Rex skull ever found, good-quality replicas and state-of-the art animatronics.

The second segment of the exhibition features skeleton casts of the Argentinosaurus, a Giganotosaurus and a T-Rex.

In the last segment of the Titans of the Past exhibition, visitors will be able to come face-to-face with mammals from the Ice Age through animatronics of a mammoth, a mastodon and a saber-toothed tiger.

MammothTitans of the Past: Dinosaurs and Ice Age Mammals will explore the development of an animal through its life and its implications for the science of paleontology. Budding paleontologists can also take part in hands-on workshops on dinosaur forensics.

The exhibition will be at The Annexe, Science Centre Singapore from 25 October 2013 to 23 February 2014.
