The Jewel Rain Vortex is undoubtedly the star of the Jewel Changi Airport. At 40 metres tall, with water falling down from the oculus in the roof to the basement, it is an impressive sight to behold. And when the sun goes down, the massive waterfall becomes the centrepiece of the Jewel Rain Vortex Light Show.

As Jewel Changi Airport enters its fifth year, it is commemorating its fifth anniversary with a brand-new Light & Music showcase at the Jewel Rain Vortex from 17 April 2024 onwards.

Through a combination of light effects and sound, Jewel Changi Airport’s enormous indoor waterfall serves as the stunning focal point of the Jewel Rain Vortex light show.

It changes through a hue of mesmerising colours that simply enthral viewers.

The sound of music reverberates throughout Jewel Changi Airport, accompanying the dazzling display.

The brand-new fifth anniversary Light & Music showcase at Jewel Changi Airport is entitled “What A Feelin5”.

The new five-minute show is created by world renowned water feature designer WET and features unique elements of Jewel’s offerings, such as its iconic façade and lush floral and greenery, in a crescendo of uplifting tunes that celebrate the vibrancy of Jewel.

One of the best things about the Jewel Rain Vortex is that it occupies the centre of the complex. This means that there are many different vantage points around the complex to admire the Jewel Rain Vortex Light Show. If you manage to find the right seat at a restaurant, it also makes the perfect accompaniment to a meal.


Viewing the Jewel Light Show

Some of the viewing areas for the Jewel light show include at the base of the Jewel Rain Vortex, at the Level Two Viewing Platform and Lobbies H & F on the second, third and fourth floor.

The many different vantage points mean that you can experience the show from different angles.

The views of the Rain Vortex are made even more spectacular surrounded by the trees of the Shishedo Forest Valley.


Jewel Light Show Times

The Jewel Rain Vortex Light Show takes place every day.

There will be two shows from Monday to Thursday and three shows on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday, and on the eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays till May 2024.

Show times are as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8 pm and 9 pm;
  • Friday to Sunday, Eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays: 8 pm, 9 pm and 10 pm

The Jewel light and sound show is free for all to enjoy.


Jewel Rain Vortex’s Operating Hours

In case you visit in the day, you may also be interested to know the Jewel Rain Vortex’s operating hours. If you visit outside of these operating hours, you will not be able to view the waterfall. The operating hours are

  • Monday to Thursday: 11 am to 10 pm;
  • Friday to Sunday (including Public Holidays): 10 am to 10 pm.

Other 5th Anniversary Celebrations at Jewel Changi Airport

In the second half of the year, visitors can also look forward to a new behind-the-scenes tour “In the Eye of the Jewel Rain Vortex”.

The tour will offer a glimpse into the intricate workings of the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, participants will get exclusive access to never-before-seen views of the Jewel Rain Vortex from the inside.

A part of the programme will also introduce participants to the work behind getting Canopy Park ready for operations every morning.

Other programmes include Jewel Blooms, a floral showcase that will be held from 24 May to 11 August.

In addition, shoppers and diners can look forward to over 50 anniversary perks across retail, dining and in-store experiences, specially curated in collaboration with Jewel’s tenants for the 5th anniversary celebrations. These exclusive offers and promotions will be rolled out in phases.
