As a travel destination, Bangkok is probably best known for its food, night markets and cheap massages. However, if you are planning a visit to Bangkok with kids, even young kids, the city still has plenty to offer.

We all know about Bangkok’s notorious traffic jams. If you don’t feel like contending the endless jams, especially if you are in Bangkok with kids, one strategy is to plan for activities that don’t take you too from away the BTS or Skytrain line (where many of the major hotels are located).

Using the BTS trains to make your way to different spots around town with minimal need to fight through the traffic below.

SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World

SEA LIFE World BangkokFound in the basement of the swanky Siam Paragon shopping mall, SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World is a great place for those with young children. Little Zoo Cafe, Siam Square

Meerkats, Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam SquareLittle Zoo Cafe is a spot where animal-loving kids can interact with little pets such as cats, dogs, chinchillas and even exotic ones such as foxes and meerkats. TrueLove at Neverland Husky Cafe

Interacting with the huskies at True Love @ Neverland Cafe, BangkokAnother spot for animal-lovers is the TrueLove at Neverland Husky Cafe. To interact with the dogs here, kids must be at least three years old and need to be supervised by an adult. For the admission fee, you will get a cake, drink and an hour to interact with more than 20 huskies. KidZania Bangkok - Milk FactoryKidZania is a global phenomena where kids are thrust in a city of their own to take on jobs and earn money. KidZania Bangkok is located within Siam Paragon (the same building as SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World). Lighthouse at Terminal 21Downtown Bangkok has plenty of shopping malls, but if you are looking for somewhere different to visit, try Terminal 21. Each floor at this shopping mall is themed after a different travel destination. There is a Japan-themed floor, London-themed floor and more. This means plenty of photo ops for the entire family. As a final bonus suggestion, if you do end up shopping at the mega shopping mall, CentralWorld Bangkok (which is close to the Chidlom and Siam BTS stations) with the kids, you will be glad to know there is a free play area on the 6th floor for kids!
