Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok is known as a spot where you can see animals such as Arctic foxes, meerkats and other little creatures. It is located in Nonthaburi in North Bangkok, past Chatuchak market, and a long way out from Central Bangkok. Not looking forward to a journey through Bangkok’s notorious traffic, we were glad to find out the Little Zoo Cafe had opened a branch in the centre of town, Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam Square.

Visiting Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam Square

Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam SquareWe arrived at Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam Square at around 2 pm, a little after the main lunchtime. At that time, the cafe was not very crowded.

First, we had to swop out our shoes for the cafe’s slippers and wash our hands before entering the cafe proper. We made our way past the food counter and up the stairs to the dining area on the second floor.

Meet the Animals

Silver Fox at Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam SquarePlaying with Silver Foxes at Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam SquareOnce we had placed our orders, our table number was added to the queue for the animal interaction area where a pair of Silver Foxes were out at the time of our visit.

There were also Fennec Foxes at Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam Square, but it was not their turn at the animal interaction area when we were there. As such, we were only able to view them through a glass panel.

Cats and dogs roamed around the dining area.

Back downstairs, there were other small animals to play with. These included birds, rabbits, guinea pig and chinchillas.

A final surprise came as we were about to leave. The counter staff told us that we were also entitled to enter an enclosure with meerkats. The meerkats, part of the mongoose family, were playful and curious, scurrying around us and showing off their signature sentry pose.

There are fewer animals at Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam Square than at their main branch at Nonthaburi. Nonetheless, we still had a nice time viewing the animals there.

The staff at Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam Square were very friendly and more than willing to introduce the animals to us. There is always some controversy about whether such places take good care of the animals but from what we saw at Little Zoo Cafe Bangkok Siam Square was that the animals seemed healthy, although the meerkats looked a little bored.
