The weekend is here again! We have scoured around the various events and activities taking place around Singapore and here are our picks of family-friendly things to do with the kids this weekend.

1. Singapore Writers Festival 2014’s Little Lit!

Head down to the National Museum of Singapore this weekend to indulge your child in intriguing stories and crafty crafts at Little Lit!, part of Singapore Writers Festival 2014. With more than 40 programmes, workshops and performces, cultivate your child’s love for books, stories and all thing literary this weekend.

2. Hop and Honk

UNDERWATER ADVENTURE: Digital Playground in a Mall

LEARN: Chinese Preschools Help Kids Master Mandarin

Kids enjoy free admission after 6 pm at the River Safari’s Safari Boo. Encounter mystical characters while learning about animals and how we can do our part to conserve them at this “merry-not-scary” event.

4. Pedestrian Night on Orchard Road

Take to the streets as the stretch of Orchard Road gets closed down in this second Pedestrian Night. Hopefully, there will be more space for everyone to walk along Singapore’s great shopping street this time!

5. SINGAPURA: 700 Years

Take in 7 centuries of history at the National Museum of Singapore’s new exhibition. Discover more about Temasek and its legends, life in Colonial Singapore and the road to Singapore’s independence.

6. Balloon Safari

Be wow by what can be made out of balloons at NEX’s Balloon Safari. View near life-sized animals and don’t miss out on balloon giveaways, contests and photo opportunities.

7. Junior Claus

The Singapore Repertory Theatre’s Junior Claus opens this weekend. Will Junior be able to save Santa and the Christmas spirit? You have to catch this show to find out.

8. Art Rojak! – $10 Workshops

Pick up circus skills, make a pet plushie out of socks and even try out batik painting in these workshops, costing $10 each, organised by The Playtent as part of their aim to make arts accessible to all.
