Taste Test
We recently gave them all a try at the Gardens by the Bay Shack one early morning.
The Bacon Egg N’ Cheese reminded us of the classic grab-and-go type of sandwich that you would find in New York, Shake Shack’s hometown. It features a griddled egg with applewood-smoked bacon along with American cheese.
However, while the typical breakfast sandwich in New York is rather greasy and hastily put together, Shake Shake Singapore’s Bacon Egg N’ Cheese was really nicely presented. The bacon had a nice bite to it and as usual, the burger bun with soft and fluffy.
The Wake Up Shake was the Bacon Egg N’ Cheese along with fried, crispy breakfast tots and the Shack breakfast sauce. It felt like a really substantial breakfast sandwich.
For something different, we also tried the Arugula Egg N’ Cheese. This one made use of mild cheddar cheese and had a serve of green arugula, which made us think it was healthier. However, it turned out to be our least favourite of the Shake Shack breakfast items.
It is hard to go wrong with tatter tots and the Breakfast Tots were awesome to pop into the mouth. It comes with the Shake breakfast sauce.
We couldn’t quite figure out what is in the Shake breakfast sauce, however, it did have an unusual flavour. At first, we didn’t like the sauce solely with potatoes (it worked better in the Wake Up Shake, but it slow grew on us.
For beverages, there is the choice of orange juice, hot tea or water. Strangely, while we could request for some milk to go along with our tea, there was no sugar. Ministry of Healthy would be proud that Shake Shack is doing its party to reduce the sugar intake of Singapore!
