NParks has made the announcement that the MacRitchie TreeTop Walk reopening will be delayed. This popular trail has been closed since August 2020 for maintenance works and will now be completed by the third quarter of the year instead of 31 May 2021.
MacRitchie TreeTop Walk
Currently, visitors are asked to use the Sime Track instead. MacRitchie TreeTop Walk spans at 250m, and stands at 25m from the ground at its highest point. It is a well-loved outdoor spot where hikers can get a bird’s eye view of the surrounding forest canopy. The Treetop Walk also plays an important role in forest canopy research and helps facilitate surveys and plant identification work.
The distance to the entrance of the TreeTop Walk is approximately 4.5 km from MacRitchie Reservoir Park. A round trip including the TreeTop Walk is about 7 km to 10 km, which takes about three to five hours depending on the walking pace.
