If you find yourself and the family heading to Seoul for a holiday, you will most likely be flying in and out of Incheon Airport. For those who are flying out from Incheon Airport with kids, there are several children’s playgrounds at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Often times, especially when traveling with kids, we find ourselves arriving at the airport early to try to avoid frantic, last-minute rushes ala Home Alone. But what do we do when we have time to kill with the kids in tow?
Incheon Airport Playgrounds for Children
At Incheon Airport’s transit area, that’s not a problem as there are several play areas for young children. And these feature one of the popular South Korean kids characters – Pororo and his friends!
Incheon Airport transit area is broken up into Terminal 1, where you first enter after passing through immigration, the Concourse, and Terminal 2.

Incheon Airport Terminal 1 Kids Play Areas
Gate 15 Kids Zone
The first Incheon Airport Kids Zone that we came across was between Gates 14 and 15. This is a small play area that has been decorated with a space theme. This is where Pororo and friends go on a space tour and the carpets and the walls have been decorated with planets and stars.
There is a rocket ship that houses a screen while another can be found behind a big Pororo head.
There is a sitting area for parents to rest while kids watch Pororo on the screen.
This kids zone is for kids between 3 to 8 years old who should be accompanied by their parents.
Gate 11 Family Center
For even more kiddy fun at Incheon Airport Terminal 1, head over to Gate 11 where there is a Family Center, where Pinkfong gives kids a welcome.
The Family Center is intended for preschool children and the highlight here is a blue, underwater-themed brick maze where kids can play hide and seek.
Hidden in the maze is Brooklyn the Baby Shark.
There is also a seating area for kids.
Other family-friendly amenities at the Gate 11 Family Center include a nursery and toilets.
Gate 9 Kids Zone
For kids between the ages of 3 to 8, just a stone’s throw away is yet another Pororo play are for kids at Gate 9.
At this Incheon Airport transit playground, Pororo and friends go on a world tour.
Before kids board the actual plane, they can have an adventure at the play-pretend plane at the Gate 9 play area. Kids can pose for pictures before climbing onboard the mock plane and imagine they are flying off on an adventure with Pororo and friends.
Incheon Airport Concourse Kids Zone
At the Incheon Airport Concourse building, a train away from Terminal 1, you can find a kids zone at Gate 108.
This is yet another Pororo World Tour themed kids zone. Loopy the Beaver is part of the gang here at this Concourse kids zone.
There is also a Pororo “touch touch” touch screen.
Other Family-friendly Things to Look Out For at Incheon Airport
While at Incheon Airport, you should also keep a look out for AIRSTAR, the Incheon International Airport Robot Assistant. Produced by LG, AIRSTAR can interact with passengers in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
You can even get AIRSTAR to take a photo of you and send it to you!
There is also a free baby stroller rental service at Incheon Airport, as well as other Kids Zones that we didn’t get to explore.
You can find more Kids Zones at the Incheon Airport website.
