Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s skyscraper skyline, it is a well-loved (and well-used) community play spot where families come together to enjoy a dose of active fun – all for free!
The Marina Bay Playground has just been given a refresh, and it now features equipment manufacturer Playworld’s PlayHill playground set.
At the heart of the playground are two elevated platforms that rise more than two metres from the ground. These “hills” give kids the opportunity to have an adventure while putting their climbing prowess to the test.
At one of the hills, kids can scale up a pair of sloped climbing panels. These panels have a unique feature – green turf that brings a touch of nature to the play experience!
Using hand and footholds, kids can navigate their way up a sloped trail. Sensory drums along the way provide opportunities for collective play. There is even an auditory sphere that spins to create a percussive accompaniment!
On the other sloped panel, kids can use the variety of grips to forge their own path to the top. Angular bars and colourful mounds offer a multitude of ways to reach the netted platform on top.
The Mighty Descent: Massive Slide for a Family-Side-Together Play
The second “hill” holds even more fun for kids.
A sloped cargo net is strung out on one side, while a twisting set of climbing rungs will challenge older kids’ strength, coordination and motor skills.
However, the most exciting feature of this part of the Marina Bay Playground is its huge orange slide!
Known as the Mighty Descent, the slide is extra-wide and can accommodate multiple riders at a time. Parents and kids can enjoy the slide together, encouraging a shared, play-filled time together.

The two hills are connected by climbing obstacles, allowing kids to seamlessly make their way from one side to the other.
Kids can also hang out in a basket swing or sway away on swings nearby.
For something more relaxing, there is a gigantic multi user swing called the “FlexRider™ Hangout” at the Marina Bay playground.
Seats with integrated tables provide rest spots for parents keeping an eye on their kids.
