The Mama Shop Of Memories is an interactive, online space where the currency is people’s fondest memories of Singapore. It has been created with Home, Truly, an exhibition which explores moments and experiences of growing up in Singapore which have shaped our collective identity and memory.
As you enter the site, there are various elements that can interact with. Listen to the Mama Shop uncle or explore items around the online mama shop such as the mini Singapore flags or an old-fashioned children’s ride.
Pay with a Memory
When you click on certain items around the Mama Shop Of Memories, for example the chaptehs or the bubble balloons, there is the option to “Pay with a memory”. This is a chance to exchange your childhood memories for real treats.
Click on the “Pay with a memory” button to share your fond memories of growing up in Singapore on the Mama Shop Of Memories website.
Once you have done so, a unique code will be emailed to you and you can use it to redeem the treat at a special vending machine located at the National Museum of Singapore.
