Just when we thought the salted egg yolk trend was dying down, KFC has launched the new salted egg Goldspice Chicken. This limited edition fried chicken is available in stores from 4 July to 9 August 2018 to celebrate Singapore’s National Day.

KFC Goldspice Chicken is encrusted in KFC’s Hot & Crispy marinade, fried and then coated with salted egg, sweet basil and curry leaves. A two-piece KFC Goldspice Chicken meal costs $8.55. A Goldspice Buddy Meal costs $19.95.

We gave the KFC Goldspice Chicken a try at a nearby KFC.

However, the Goldspice Chicken did leave us wanting in the salted egg department – we simply wished there was a stronger salted egg flavour and perhaps less “heat” from the spices.
