From now to 12 Feb 2025, you can go for a stroll through the grounds of the Chinese Garden at Jurong Lake Garden and admire the landscaping that complements the Chinese New Year lantern decorations at the Twin Pagoda, Tea Pavilion and Entrance Arch that links Chinese Garden to Lakeside Garden.

Stoneboat

The Stoneboat is also lit up in the evening.

Twin Pagoda Chinese New Year

Our favourite spot within the Chinese Garden for Chinese New Year is the Twin Pagoda. You can make the climb up the pagoda to enjoy the night breeze and also get a view of the surrounding Jurong Lake.

Tea Pavilion

Another spot where you can enjoy a scenic view is the Tea Pavilion that overlooks the lily pond and with the Stoneboat on the other side.

If you are thinking of visiting the Chinese Garden to soak in the festive Chinese New Year atmosphere in the evening, you can also consider having dinner there before taking a stroll through the verdant Chinese Garden.

There are two eateries at Chinese Garden.

The first is Canopy Jurong Lake Gardens at the Main Arch building. This can be reached by taking the White Rainbow Bridge across the water from Lakeside Garden. You can read our review of the pet-friendly Canopy Jurong Lake Gardens at Jurong Lake Gardens.

The second eatery is Eden, which is located at the Cloud Pagoda Plaza. This is easily accessible from Chinese Garden MRT station. The cafe offers a mix of local and western style dishes. Read our full review of Eden at Chinese Garden.

If you are looking for more festive things to do for Chinese New Year in Singapore, one that we recommend is paying a visit to the reopened Chinatown Heritage Centre at Pagoda Street. You can experience what it is like stepping back in time as you enter into a Chinatown shophouse.
