From 16 to 18 August, Marina Bay Sands will be holding its first large-scale charity festival, Sands for Singapore Festival to benefit Singaporeans.
Over the weekend, proceeds from four attractions at Marina Bay Sands – ArtScience Museum, Sampan Ride, Sands SkyPark Observation Deck and the Skating Rink – will be donated to Community Chest.
Restaurants owned by Marina Bay Sands, including the six celebrity chef restaurants, will join selected food & beverage outlets in donating 50% of proceeds from the Wish Dishes to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The MasterCard Theatres – Sands Theatre will host Marina Bay Sands’ designated charity, O School, for a special performance, Wonderment, on 16 and 17 August 2013 featuring 80 young dancers.
Roving and live entertainment taking place during the festival include ‘human statues’, stilt walkers, face painters, balloon sculptors and acrobatic performers.
The Sands for Singapore Festival will culminate in the ComChest Heartstring Walk and vertical marathon, “Race to the Sky”. The fun walk flags off on Sunday morning at the Event Plaza. A carnival with fun activities for families will also be held to help people better understand the needs of the less fortunate.
The series of fund-raising events held during this giveback weekend will benefit Art Outreach Singapore, Community Chest, Make-A-Wish Foundation, National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), O School and the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf).
