Mums understand the challenges that fellow mums face. Therefore, in these trying times, two mums have come together to rally a community to support others through a new Facebook group, SG Mummies United.

Community-driven Blessings Facebook Group

The SG Mummies United is a community-driven blessings group which aims to provide as much immediate assistance as possible for mums who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These include mums who may have lost their jobs or are struggling to make ends meet.

Through SG Mummies United, mums-in-need can reach out to fellow mums for help. In turn, those who have the ability to bless others can do so.

Mums with extra necessities like formula, diapers, food, milk bottles, groceries, clothing or even educational items, can also list them for other mums who may need the items.

Items will be passed through a courier service and the admins of the group are currently negotiating with logistics companies to provide delivery services at lower rates. SG Mummies United will also subsidise $4 per trip for deliveries.

The SG Mummies Facebook group was set up by Dolores Au, 45, and Gidania Wong, 35.

Any mum can join the SG Mummies United Facebook Group, whether to extend assistance or to request for essentials that they may need.

SG Mummies United is also in touch with organisations such as Daughters of Tomorrow, Babes and Beyond Social Services.

In the long term, even though this group was started as a response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the admins of the SG Mummies United group aim to continue supporting mums in need of urgent provisions and assistance.

Mums who wish to join the group can make a request to do so at https://www.facebook.com/groups/sgmummiesunited/
