‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ is the new 4D movie experience that officially opened on 22 May 2013. The show presents audiences an immersive 4D movie experience that follows Sean (played by Josh Hutcherson) and his stepfather (played by Dwayne Johnson) as they search for long-lost grandpa on the Mysterious Island.
Converted into 4D format from the 2012 Warner Bros. Pictures Hollywood blockbuster ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’, audiences will experience elements such as 3D imaging and special effects, including wind scents and water sprays.
This 4D movie replaces the previous 4D movie, “Pirates”, which had been showing since the opening of the 4D cinema in 2005.
Speaking at the launch of the new 4D movie, Dato’ A. Yogesvaran, Managing Director and CEO of Sentosa 4D AdventureLand said, “While we have received positive feedback on ‘Pirates’, our guests and key channel partners have expressed a desire for new experiences. After a long search, we have found ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ to be suitable for our audience. The new show is also symbolic of the brand identity of our product to meet the desires of our audience as the characters are very current, the story is based on a timeless classic novel and the adventurous theme brings out the child in everyone of us.”
Sentosa 4D AdventureLand is open from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm daily. Ticket sales end at 8.15 pm. It is located at 51B Imbiah Road, Sentosa and can be visited online at www.4dadventureland.com.sg.
