If you love stationery shopping, art supplies, and school essentials — or if you’re just looking to stock up on high-quality supplies at great prices — then Memoland in Johor Bahru (JB), Malaysia, across the border should be on your radar.
My family recently visited this wholesale stationery store, and though I was really deliberating each and every item I took off the shelf, I felt I shopped a year’s worth of stationery supplies in one trip!
How to Get to Memoland from Singapore
Memoland is located in Plentong, Johor Bahru, approximately 25 minutes from the Woodlands Checkpoint, depending on traffic.
It’s a convenient stop for families making a day trip to JB, especially if you’re already in the area for shopping, food, or weekend activities. We found it easy to find roadside parking lots right outside Memoland.

Why Memoland is Pocket-friendly for Stationery Lovers
Because Memoland is a wholesale supplier, it offers a vast range of products at reasonable and competitive prices, helped by currency conversion rates. I went in with a recyclable bag, but soon realised it wasn’t sufficient to contain my stationery haul. Reach for a shopping cart at the entrance if you know you’re doing a big stock up!
I signed up for a RM10/year membership to enjoy instant member prices on my purchases. I figured even if I did not revisit, the membership was still value-for-money on my first visit.
Ninso Plentong
Looking for Even More Budget-Friendly Stationery? Try Ninso Plentong.
Right across from Memoland is Ninso Plentong, a household supplies store which also has stationery aisles. Ninso is like the local Daiso-equivalent in Malaysia, and has many branches, some in shopping malls, and there happens to be one at Plentong in Memoland’s vicinity.
Many Ninso products are at the flat rate of RM2.40. Shop stationery at Ninso at budget prices but note the stationery variety can be limited and consists mostly of unbranded products. If you prefer brands like Faber-Castell and Pentel, Memoland may be more suitable for your stationery needs.
What You Can Find at Memoland
Memoland’s collection covers categories from school supplies to craft materials, office stationery, and even sports gear. I didn’t have enough time to shop leisurely in-store because of my two young children in tow, but then following is what I gathered of their range.

Brands We Love: Faber-Castell & Pentel (Low-Tox Choices!)
One of the best things about Memoland is stocking up on products from familiar brands we’ve already been using like Faber-Castell and Pentel at great prices. From a low-tox perspective, these brands stand out for their commitment to safety:
● Faber-Castell: The brand claims that all Faber-Castell products are tested to be free from harmful substances. Products in the Playing & Learning field comply with the European toy directive and are toxicologically harmless.
● Pentel: While Pentel doesn’t offer a blanket certification like Faber-Castell, many of their products bear the ACMI’s AP (Approved Product) seal, which indicates they have been certified non-toxic by a toxicologist. This applies to various markers, paints, and writing tools.
Gentle Reminder: Mindful Consumerism
With so many great deals, it’s easy to go overboard and buy more than you need. Before visiting, make a shopping list to stay focused and avoid impulse purchases. Mindful shopping ensures you’re only getting what you truly need and not what you might find a need for.
Final Thoughts: A Stationery Haven for Families & Educators
Since school and art supplies run out quickly in my household, I was really happy to stock up on them at Memoland. If you’re a parent, teacher, student, or craft enthusiast, this is a gem in JB that’s worth pencilling in for a visit.
