Lanterns Light Up Moonlit Moments Till 26 Sep At Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall

Four large lanterns sit on the lawn on the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. This installation, being held in conjunction with the Memorial Hall’s Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival 2021, will be there from now till 26 September 2021.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month.


Lanterns at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall for Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival 2021

The lantern installation at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall is entitled “Those Moonlit Moments…” It is the work of Thailand artist Boonyavee Boonsakda.

“Those Moonlit Moments…” features four lanterns are in the design of bunnies. Each of the cute rabbits are enjoying mooncakes, along with each other’s company, under the watchful eye of the Moon Rabbit.

The Moon Rabbit character was inspired by the Jade Rabbit of Chinese folklore that accompanies the goddess Chang’e on the moon.

If you wish to view the lantern installation, “Those Moonlit Moments…” will be on display on the lawn of the Memorial Hall from 31 August to 26 September 2021, 10 am to 9 pm daily.
