If you are in the area of Little India, be sure to stop by POLI @ Clive Street to see some live bulls, cows and goats at the temporary cattle farm, as part of the Pongal celebration.
Cattle Farm At Little India for Pongal
Located in a big white tent, the Little India Cattle Farm offers visitors a chance to see the cattle which have been decorated for the Pongal harvest festival. The cattle have festive garlands around their necks.
This practice is done as a way to thank the cattle for their work during the agricultural season.

Mattu Pongal, the third day of the Pongal festival, is set aside to honour the sacred animals for their hard work ploughing the fields as part of the harvest.
The temporary cattle farm at Little India has a mix of bulls and cows. There are even goats too.
Also on display are a couple of colourful cow sculptures. There is also a traditional cart.
The cattle come from Viknesh Dairy Farm in Kranji.
This year, there is also cow’s milk on sale at the Little India cattle farm.
