The Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) is back to give us all some serious flower power, and this year it’s a big one — SGF turns 10! From 4 to 12 July 2026, Gardens by the Bay will bloom into a riot of colour, scent and creativity as the festival celebrates its milestone edition under the theme “Carnival of Blooms”.
Singapore Garden Festival 2026
Organised by the National Parks Board (NParks) and Gardens by the Bay, SGF has long been considered one of the world’s premier international garden and flower shows. In fact, it has grown into one of the top three flower and garden shows in the world. It draws world-class designers and horticulturalists from across the globe, while giving students, community gardeners and everyday plant lovers a chance to shine too.
This year, the carnival theme is going all out, with larger-than-life floral installations, immersive light experiences, brand new themed gardens, a lively MarketPlace, and daily live music and food. Basically, it’s a full day (or evening) out for the whole family. Here’s what you can expect.
GO GREEN SG: Many free, fun, family-friendly eco activities
HOLIDAY COLOURING COMPETITION: Get Creative in the Playground In Your Style Competition with More Than $2,000 in Prizes To Be Won
An 8-Metre-High Floral Roller Coaster Welcomes You
First stop: thrills, minus the actual stomach drop. Greeting visitors at The Meadow entrance is an 8-metre-high Floral Roller Coaster installation by NParks, which reimagines the rush of a roller coaster ride through a floral lens. Think sweeping curves and tracks, except instead of steel, they’re woven through with lush tropical planting.
It’s bound to be one of the most photographed spots of the festival, so get ready to queue up for that perfect shot.
Floral Vortex, Floral Infinity Mirror and a Floral Mirror Maze
Beyond the roller coaster, keep an eye out for other large-scale immersive installations including the Floral Vortex, Floral Infinity Mirror and a Floral Mirror Maze — perfect for getting delightfully lost among the blooms.
The Floral Vortex sends you through sweeping arches of orchids in a dynamic array of colours — yellow oncidiums, gentle dendrobiums and boldly coloured Vandaceous orchids.
In addition, the Floral Infinity Mirror stretches vivid tropical foliage into endless reflections.
The Floral Mirror Maze is something else entirely: eight uniquely designed chandeliers featuring living orchids, cascading Spanish moss and pressed flowers from the Singapore Herbarium, all reflected infinitely by mirror-clad walls.
New Themed Gardens for Little Explorers (and Big Kids Too)
If your idea of a garden festival is just walking past pretty flowers, SGF 2026 wants you to slow down and actually play in them. New themed gardens this year include:
Nature’s Carousel Play Garden
A unique garden where a majestic central tree forms a natural carousel column, surrounded by tree trunks echoing the vertical posts of a spinning carousel. Log play elements are crafted to resemble Singapore’s native animals — owls, hornbills and pangolins. A gentle ascent up a meadowy hill leads to a burst of vibrant colours at the heart of the garden.
Sensory Garden
This is one to linger in. Inspired by enchanting confectionery stalls in carnivals, the space transforms nature into a multi-sensory candy shop within an enchanted forest. Thoughtfully designed architectural elements showcase delightfully scented plants, with sweet blossoms, citrus fruits, earthy herbs and edibles inviting visitors to touch, smell, taste and discover.
Sunflower Garden
From compact 30 cm varieties to towering 4-metre specimens, see how many varieties you can spot. There’s fascinating context here too — sunflowers have been cultivated for over 4,000 years. Originally from the Americas, sunflowers are still one of the world’s most versatile and sustainable crops.
Silver Garden
Step into a world of silver. These plants get their soft, reflective quality from tiny hairs called trichomes or waxy coatings that help deflect intense sunlight and reduce water loss — many originate from Mediterranean regions with harsh conditions. The silvery palette creates an elegant backdrop that makes surrounding greens and florals pop with contrast.
Fruit Orchard
A journey through four zones tracing ancient trade routes — from citruses in the Old World, pomegranates along the Silk Road, to papayas in the New World — culminating in a Mediterranean dome where figs and other fruits reveal cultural stories shared across civilisations.
Wildflower Meadow
This is an interpretation of a temperate wildflower meadow with a tropical twist. A gentle reminder too that wildflower meadows are among the most threatened habitats in the world.
Framed by Nature
Three interactive Face-in-a-Hole photo backdrops themed around Park, Forest and Coast habitats — framed by plants that capture the character of each environment. This is great for a family photo that’s a little more creative than your usual selfie.
Show Gardens
This is arguably the crown jewel of SGF, and the 2026 edition brings together eight internationally acclaimed designers for what is billed as an All-Stars Edition. Each garden takes a different approach to the relationship between nature, space and human experience:
Light It Up After Dark
Don’t rush off once the sun goes down. Known by Flowers, an interactive light art installation by Shiyang Hu (China) of YiXiang Studio, celebrates nature’s magical beauty after dark. As the scale between flowers and visitors shifts, so does the way you experience them.
Touch, listen and interact as you immerse yourself in blooms that seem to cradle ripples of sunlight and dreams. The festival lights up from 6.30pm onwards, so it’s well worth timing a visit to catch both the daytime gardens and the evening glow-up.
Orchid Extravaganza: Rhythm of the Rainforest

For orchid lovers, this is the showstopper.
Orchid Extravaganza: Rhythm of the Rainforest takes place in the Flower Dome and spotlights the rich heritage across seven regions of Indonesia, featuring over 7,000 orchids including native species.
Presented in partnership with the Ministry of Creative Economy of Indonesia and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore, it features striking woven artworks and larger-than-life sculptural pieces using the traditional anyaman weaving technique with coconut leaves and bamboo. They are featured alongside architectural recreations of traditional Sumbanese houses with soaring roofs and multi-tiered Balinese Meru towers.
Cultural motifs including bold Toba Batak patterns and intricate ikat designs reflect the stories, beliefs and craftsmanship across the Indonesian archipelago.
Do note that Orchid Extravaganza runs from 3 July all the way to 10 August 2026 in the Flower Dome — so even after SGF wraps up, you have more time to catch it.
Running alongside, from 4 to 12 July, is the Singapore Orchid Show organised by the Orchid Society of South East Asia (OSSEA), featuring the region’s best orchid plants and award-winning varieties, with a prize presentation ceremony for competition winners.
165 Years in Bloom: A Story of Singapore’s Garden Shows
Before you get swept up in the flowers of the present, spare a moment for the past. This exhibition traces Singapore’s garden show story all the way back to 1861, when the very first flower show was held on the Esplanade, organised by the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Through archival photographs, historical records and key milestones, it charts how these shows have moved in step with the nation — encouraging residents to cultivate the land in the colonial era, championing Singapore’s Garden City identity post-independence, and celebrating the City in Nature vision of today. A genuinely lovely piece of history to wander through.
Penjing & Artistic Stone Exhibition
Presented by the Singapore Penjing and Stone Appreciation Society, this exhibition is for those who appreciate the slow art of patience.
On display are over 120 carefully curated pieces — including tropical bonsai species lovingly cultivated by local enthusiasts over decades, landscape penjing, artistic stones and antique pots.
There’s a prize presentation ceremony for competition winners too. If you’ve ever been curious about trees in miniature, this is a rare chance to appreciate the craft up close.
Competitions Galore: From Students to International Floral Masters
SGF isn’t just a show to look at — it’s also a stage for serious competition.
Here’s a quick rundown of the competitions that will be happening.
Landscape Design Challenge
Students from ITE College East, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic competed on 4 July, given just four hours to implement landscape displays inspired by the theme “Retro Reimagined”. Take a stroll through their creations to discover how the next generation of landscape designers puts a fresh spin on the landscapes of yesteryear.
Floral Windows to the World Championship
Floral Designers Society Singapore presents its 14th edition with the theme “The Elements of Design”. Amateur competitors take part on 4 July (creating two designs including a “Texture Talks” display and a Surprise Package), while Professional competitors compete on 8 July (three designs including “Lines of Beauty” and “Dynamism in Contrast”). Works are on display throughout the festival.
International FDSS Cup Floral Designing Competition
Catch international professionals and amateur participants in action as they put together floral displays — a great spot to pick up some arrangement inspiration of your own.
Singapore Gardeners’ Cup
Now in its eighth edition, this sees 36 Community in Bloom gardening groups create three distinctive display plots under the theme “Vintage Carnival”, showcasing tropical plants in enchanting displays that blend sustainability, cultural heritage and visual appeal.
Community Garden Edibles Competition
Tucked inside the Tent of Edible Curiosities — a delightfully designed carnival-themed tent — this competition celebrates homegrown harvests from local gardeners, including some uncommon and unique edibles. Stop by the Strongman Booth, the Travelling Puppet Theatre and let the Fortune Teller unveil the secrets within every edible plant part. Feed your curiosity; leave nourished.
SG Caudex Competition and Showcase
Co-organised by Planters Market and Cuteplantsworld, this brings together collectors and enthusiasts to present a curated lineup of caudiciforms — more than 40 entrants from the families of Apocynaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Burseraceae and others, all staged with creativity and paired with fine pottery. If you don’t know what a caudiciform is, this is a great excuse to find out.
A MarketPlace, Live Music and Food to Round It All Off

Organised in partnership with Planters Market, the MarketPlace at Bayfront Green (next to Bayfront MRT) offers a curated shopping experience featuring plants, gardening wares, collectibles and more — with different vendors across the two halves of the festival (4 to 7 July and 8 to 12 July).
Admission is free. Home gardening enthusiasts will find plenty to stock up on here.
