Singapore’s 61st birthday is getting the Changi Airport treatment, with a month-long National Day-themed line-up of horticultural displays, live performances, and family-friendly meet-and-greets running through August 2026.
National Day Festivities at Changi Airport
No boarding pass needed — all of it takes place in the public areas of the terminals and Jewel, making it a solid (and free-to-enter) outing for families looking to soak in some SG61 spirit.

Singapore residents can purchase single-day tickets to Jewel Canopy Park from 7 to 10 August that will entitle them to visits till 31 August. Parents can have fun alongside their children at this sure-hit Jewel Changi Airport play area.
Jewel Level 5 is also introducing A Taste & Touch of Peranakan Heritage from 1 August to 31 December, a new experience with Baba Nyonya Restaurant featuring a Peranakan food sampling platter, traditional attire for photos on the Canopy Bridge, and a bookmark-making workshop, with tickets starting from S$46 and including Jewel Canopy Park and Canopy Bridge access plus a S$5 retail voucher.
Giant Floral Displays Across the Terminals
From now till 31 August 2026, Changi Airport’s terminals are decked out with National Day-themed horticultural displays celebrating Singapore’s botanical heritage. Two are especially worth making a beeline for.
A Six-Metre Bougainvillea Tree at Terminal 2
Over at the Terminal 2 Departure Hall, an illuminated bougainvillea tree towers six metres tall, wrapped in a riot of magenta blooms that light up after dark. Look closer and you’ll spot two plant varieties named after the airport itself — Dendrobium ‘Singapore Changi Airport’ and Bougainvillea ‘Changi Airport’ — a nod to Changi’s decades-long relationship with horticulture and its status as one of the world’s greenest airports.
It’s the kind of display that photographs beautifully any time of day, but especially so once the lights come on in the evening.
Kinetic Butterflies and Vanda Miss Joaquim at Terminal 3
At Terminal 3 Departure Hall, the tribute turns to Singapore’s national flower. A four-metre-tall Vanda Miss Joaquim floral display anchors the space, with moving kinetic butterflies fluttering above — a playful, ever-changing detail that’s bound to catch the eye of young ones and shutterbugs alike.These are the standout highlights of a wider spread of National Day-themed horticultural displays showcased across Terminals 1 to 4 from 23 July to 31 August 2026.
Meet Minions and My Little Pony at ST3PS
Families with young children will want to circle 8 and 9 August on the calendar. ST3PS in Terminal 3 Basement 2 is hosting a National Day Weekend Special, complete with goodie bags, games with prizes, and meet-and-greets with beloved mascots.
On 8 August, from 1pm to 2.30pm, catch a meet-and-greet with the Minions alongside a live performance by local talent Ben Hum. The following day, 9 August, from 4pm to 5.30pm, My Little Pony takes over with a performance by Boon Hui Lu.
The National Day Parade will also be screened live at ST3PS right after the 9 August event, so families can stick around and catch the parade together.
Changi Rewards members who spend S$50 can also score a complimentary Meet & Greet Photo Pass, so it’s worth signing up beforehand if you’re planning to snap photos with the mascots (membership is free).
More National Day Happenings to Catch
The floral displays and mascot meet-and-greets are just part of the celebrations. Over at Jewel, the “Home” Light & Music Showcase returns nightly to the Rain Vortex from 1 to 31 August, paying tribute to the National Day Parade theme song “Home” by Kit Chan, with shows at 8pm and 9pm on weekdays and an extra 10pm show on weekends and public holidays.
Shoppers and diners can also unlock the Buddy Bear Stamp Hunt from 3 to 31 August by spending a minimum of S$28 at Hub & Spoke Café, Gift by Changi Airport, or Changi Experience Studio, with all six stamps collected earning a Buddy Bear keychain.
Till September, Terminals 2 and 3 are hosting Singapore-inspired pop-ups with local-flavoured merchandise from Snoopy, Sanrio, Ang Ku Kueh Girl, Mr Kiasu, and Mr. Merlion Town, complete with a nostalgic Mamak Shop and photo spots.
