It is a sunny morning and Peter awakes all excited because it is his birthday. He has invited all his friends from the forest to his birthday party and it is going to be a grand celebration. Peter’s dog Blue and cat Calico kick off the fun at the party with dancing and games as the magical folk of the forest join in.

Catch this charming performance of Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party by the Singapore Dance Theatre from 2 to 5 July at the Esplanade Theatre Studio. The hour-long children’s ballet production brings together whimsical fun with meaningful morals through dance.

Created by SDT Artistic Director Janek Schergen, Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party is part of a three-part ballet series and was last staged in 2013. Other performances in the series include Peter & Blue’s Forest Adventure, previously staged in 2010, 2011 and 2014, and Peter & Blue Go Around the World in 2012.

The fun at Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party will spill out beyond the theatre. Children’s activities like meet-the-characters and photo-taking sessions, as well as balloon sculpting, have been planned.

Peter And Blue
“Peter & Blue has established itself, over the past five years, as some of Singapore Dance Theatre’s happiest annual performances. The dancers get a big thrill out of the immediate response in performing for a young audience and bringing them into the world inhabited by Peter, his dog Blue and cat Calico, with all their adventures,” comments Janek Schergen, Artistic Director of Singapore Dance Theatre. “
