With the surge in crowds at Chinatown last weekend, the decision has been taken that there will be no light-up at the streets of Chinatown from 5 to 7 February 2021, as well as on 11 February 2021. However, you can still enjoy a virtual light-up instead with the 360 Virtual Tour of Chinatown’s Street Light-Up.
360 Virtual Tour of Chinatown’s Street Light-Up
If you wish to enjoy sights and sounds of Chinatown from the comfort and safety of home, the 360 Virtual Tour of Chinatown’s Street Light-Up is perfect suited for you.
All you need to do is access the virtual tour online and you can have a look at the Chinese New Year 2021 street light up without having to worry about the crowds. The tour is in video form and you can even see traffic moving by so that it feels slightly more like you are visiting Chinatown.
Online, you can also get up close and personal with the 10-metre Ox centrepiece located in Chinatown.

Online Activities for Chinese New Year 2021
It is part of the online activities organised by the Chinatown Festivals Organising Committee.
Other online content that is available for Chinese New Year 2021 include three short films on Spring Court, Bee Cheng Hiang (premiering 14 February) and Kele (premiering 28 February) which will be shown on Chinatown Festival’s Facebook Page.
There will be an upcoming virtual heritage tour by volunteer guides to share the culture and heritage of Chinatown.
In the meantime, enjoy the 360 Virtual Tour of Chinatown’s Street Light-Up for a virtual wander around the historic precinct. You can enjoy the lights even though they won’t be on over the weekend.
