Over the months from April to June 2024, join in the Colour Socks Parade, a vibrant celebration of self-expression and artistic talent that showcases the creativity of persons with intellectual disability (PWIDs).
This fundraising campaign by MINDS takes place from from 1 April to 30 June 2024 and coincides with World Down Syndrome Day (21 March) and World Autism Day (2 April).
The Colour Socks Parade aims to raise awareness for disabilities and advocates for the availability of further community-based support services for PWIDs in Singapore.
During this season, you can witness their incredible skills and become a part of our expanding community dedicated to supporting PWIDs and their families.

Colour Socks Parade: Inclusive Arts Festival
To kick things off, MINDS is organising the Inclusive Arts Festival on 6 April 2024.
Held at the National Library building at Victoria Street, the one-day festival will feature a diverse range of art activities and performances.
Participants can engage in the enlightening Key Word Sign Workshop where they will learn manual signs and gestures to support communication for individuals facing speech or communication difficulties. Attendees will be able to enrich their interactive sign vocabulary and receive a Basic Key Word Sign Certificate of Attendance.
The Basic Key Word Sign Workshop is complimentary for all attendees.
Paint a Tile
There will also be a “Paint a Tile” initiative. For a donation of $50, participants receive a white tile that serves as a canvas for their creative expression through painting.
Each hand-painted tile is a symbolic expression, representing a voice and hope. Through this creative avenue, MINDS aims to create a tangible representation of a community that embraces diversity, where everyone, regardless of differences, is welcomed with open arms.
Completed tiles will be showcased on a tile wall at one of MINDS’ Centres, each representing a unique hope and voice for a more inclusive society.
In addition, make a donation of $25 to receive a festival coupon and join in activities such as bookmark marking, photo frame decoration, terrarium making and beads bracelet making.
Visitors can also shop for items crafted and designed by trainees from MINDS’ non-profit Social Enterprise teams – MINDS Craft, MINDS Bakers and MINDS Farm, ranging from artworks, tote bags, cookies, canvas art clocks to scented candles.
Visitors to the Inclusive Arts Festival will also get to meet the talented artists behind the crafts, artworks and performances showcased at the event.
