The Nature Immersion Trail is your invitation to enjoy the peace and presence of nature.

It unfolds as a series of gentle prompts, each marked by a small signpost along the winding stream-side route. There’s no need to rush from one point to the next, instead, you are invited to linger for a couple of minutes to soak in the surroundings.

Winding upwards, and criss crossing the water of the Saraca Stream, the trail is specially curated to encourage visitors to engage with natural light, sounds, colours, and other stimuli to foster a gradual immersion into nature through a gentle, multi-sensory journey.

It is Asia’s first Nature Immersion Trail to be certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.

Prompt Stations to Connect with Nature

Prompt Stations to Connect with Nature

There are 12 stops marked out along the Nature Immersion Trail.

These are unhurried points where you can pause and soak in nature.

buttress roots of a nearby tree

The stops encourage you to engage the senses. One of the trail’s most distinctive stops asks you to place your hands on the buttress roots of a nearby tree, feeling the texture and strength of a root system built to anchor decades of growth, a small, tactile act that grounds you in the moment. It is an opportunity to slow down and connect with nature.

One invites you to choose a favourite tree and simply enjoy its presence, and watch the play of light filtering through the canopy.

Saraca Stream

The Saraca Stream is a bubbling companion throughout the walk, with signs encouraging you to pause and listen to its sound or simply rest a moment on a bench beside it.

By the trail’s end, you’ve moved through a sequence the planners call endings and beginnings, a gentle close that mirrors the invitation to keep noticing nature long after you’ve left.

Accessible to wheelchair users and designed for people of all physical abilities, the Nature Immersion Trail makes mindful engagement with nature available to nearly everyone who visits.

Nature Immersion Trail: Asia’s first ANFT-certified Trail

The experience was officially opened by the National Parks Board (NParks) and is certified by the US-based Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT), making the trail at Saraca Stream one of just 28 ANFT-certified trails worldwide, and the first in Asia.

It sits under NParks’ broader Parks for Health framework, launched in June 2025 to harness therapeutic landscapes for community wellness.

It can be found close to the Nassim Gate at Singapore Botanic Gardens.
