It’s back! The McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger makes a return on 27 July 2023 and this time around it is accompanied by Bandung Frappé, Potato Wedges and Cocoa-nut Pie.
The McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger made its debut in 2017. This was followed up a reappearance in 2019.
McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger 2023
The 2023 iteration of the Nasi Lemak Burger boasts a new sambal sauce with ikan bilis flavour. The sambal is more savoury than the previous versions, which were sweeter. This give the latest McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger a stronger umami flavour profile.

The sambal sauce also has a bit of heat to it and it lingers in the mouth after a bite.
Aside from the change in sambal sauce, the chicken patty has also been updated. While previously there was a cornflake batter, the new McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger has a pretty thick chicken patty with a breaded crust.
The chicken patty is stacked on top of a bed of caramalised onions with a fried egg on top along with slices of cucumber. It is served between lightly toasted semolina buns.
We had a chance to try it out ahead of its launch and it is a burger that we would buy again.
The McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger is available from $8.30 a la carte or from $9.30 for an Extra Value Meal.
Bandung Frappé
The Bandung Frappé is a nice twist on a classic Singapore drink. The taste of rose syrup and milk blended with ice makes it a refreshing beverage.
We found that the Bandung Frappé paired surprisingly well with the Nasi Lemak Burger, both of them being familiar flavours with a twist.
The Bandung Frappé is available from $4.75 for a small and $4.95 for a medium.
Potato Wedges
Chunky Potato Wedges will also be available, for a limited time only.
Cocoa-nut Pie
For dessert, the Cocoa-nut Pie combines a creamy nata de coco filling with a crispy cocoa-infused crust. This dessert is available from $1.70.
The Nasi Lemak Burger, Bandung Frappé, Potato Wedges and Cocoa-nut Pie are available from 27 July onwards, after Breakfast hours for dine-in or takeaway at all restaurants, Drive-Thrus and via McDelivery, GrabFood and foodpanda for a limited time only, while stocks last.
