It is along the Park Connector Network. From the road, you can see it if you are turning off the East Coast Parkway (ECP) on to the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE).
Don’t be fooled by trying to search for it on Google Maps and asking for driving directions. It may lead you to the Marina East Desalination Plant’s Site Office along Marina East Drive. This is NOT accessible to the public and you can’t reach the publicly accessible area this way.
How to Get to the Marina East Desalination Plant Green Roof
Firstly, there is no public car park directly located at the Marina East Desalination Plant. The Plant is located along the Park Connector Network. This means that is only accessible to the public on foot or bicycle.
The closest car parks to the Marina East Desalination Plant are around 15 minutes away on foot.
One car park is the Public Car Park at Bay Garden East, along Tanjong Rhu Road.
From there, take the Park Connector Network – entrance directly opposite the Bay Garden East Visitor Centre – and head eastwards. There is about 1 km of ground to cover to reach the Marina East Desalination Plant.
Alternatively, you can park at the Fort Road Car Park. It is around 800 metres westwards from this car park to the Desalination Plant.
If you wish to cycle to the Plant, the closest bicycle kiosk is Bike Shop at Area B. This is around 1.2 km away from the Plant.
However, to enter the Green Roof, you will need to leave the bicycles outside. There are bike racks but you will need to bring your own chain to lock it up.
