With the recent rise in COVID-19 community cases, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced that there would be a Home-Based Learning (HBL) period for all Primary 1 to 5 students this year, from 27 September 2021 till the end of the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) on 6 October 2021.

P1 to P5 Students HBL: Precautionary Measures

This additional precautionary measure will apply to primary and Special Education (SPED) schools offering the National Curriculum in the lead up to the start of written papers for the PSLE.

This year, the written papers for the PSLE start on 30 September and end on 6 October.

Study Break for P6 Students from 25 to 29 Sep

In addition, Primary 6 students will go on a study break prior to the PSLE from 25 to 29 September 2021. This is similar to the arrangements for the 2020 year-end exams.

These precautionary measures are to protect younger students who are not yet medically eligible for vaccination. It is also to minimise the risk of school-based transmissions and reduce the number of students placed on Quarantine Order (QO) or Leave of Absence (LOA) prior to the PSLE.

For students who require additional support during the period of HBL, Primary and SPED schools will remain open.

MOE Kindergartens, KCare Services and Student Care Centres will operate normally.

Parents who need assistance can approach their children’s schools.
