Located within Gardens by the Bay’s Serene Garden, Garden Pod is the latest project of the Shipping Container Hotel. This concept was first piloted at LaunchPad@One North.
The Garden Pod is designed by LAUD Architects and incorporates the use of a pinwheel design to make the hotel into a sculptural installation that blends into the surroundings of the Serene Garden.
LAUD Architects Director Matthew Yeo said, “We designed Garden Pod as a sculptural form to complement the plant displays and add a new dimension to the landscape.”

The suites at Garden Pod are called Jasmine, Maple, Juniper and Bamboo.
Each duplex suite of Garden Pod has 70 square metres of space, spread out over two levels and connected by a sculptural spiral staircase. The suites come with the following amenities like a living room with TV, 1 king bed & 1 Murphy queen bed, Ensuite bathroom and kitchen area. There is also a kitchen with hob and downdraft hood, indoor and outdoor dining areas.
The rooms also feature a room fragrance from Maison de L’Asie, a luxury niche fragrance house in Asia and a proudly Singaporean company.
A quick check on the Standard Rate for a room for a night in September showed that it is priced at $450 on weekdays and $600 on weekends.
The Garden Pod has also been built with sustainable elements such as photovoltaic panels, drinking glasses made from repurposed glassware and soil in terrarium displays upcycled from horticulture and landscaping waste.
