Rainforest Wild Adventure, formerly known as Rainforest Wild Asia and Africa, has just opened its EAST section. The wildlife park features naturalistic habitats inspired by the rainforests of Asia and Africa – all as part of a single ticket.
Rainforest Wild Adventure is made up of two parts – EAST and WEST.
Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST is located at Mandai Wildlife EAST, with the park’s entrance next to Night Safari. It is smaller than Rainforest Wildlife Adventure WEST, but that also means that there is less walking to get from one activity to the other.
Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST is located at Mandai Wildlife WEST, where Bird Paradise is located.
MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL: Celebrate the Joy of Learning with Discounts Off 1:1: Lessons with the British Council
SCO Young Children's Concert: Introduce Your Child to the Joy of Music at this Interactive Concert
There are bus services provided (2-minute ride) between the two sections and an entry ticket to the park allows for multiple entries before the 5 pm last admission timeslot.
The park caters to all ages – from multi-generational families to energetic explorers and adventure-seekers – and we feel it is all about the adventure experiences.
Overview of Rainforest Wild Adventure: Adventure and Wildlife

We had a first look at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST on soft opening day, 20 May 2026, and here is our guide to both sections of the park.
Rainforest Wild Adventure is home to 58 free-to-roam species. This could mean that more time is needed to “find” them. They could be seeking shade from the elements, resting or just out of sight.
Spot the animals by asking the rangers for help!
If your intention is to see as many animals as possible within a short timeframe, we think it is best to visit the other wildlife parks such as Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari or Bird Paradise.
However, if you adopt the “expedition” mindset and don’t mind taking a trek through nature and spending time to look out for animals, plus want to have some adventure too, then Rainforest Wild Adventure is for you.
Rainforest Wild Adventure is big on adventures since up to 5 (on weekends) or 9 Adventure+ experiences are included with admission (ticket promotion till end August). We would definitely recommend Rainforest Wild Adventure for families with older kids, teens and adrenaline-seekers.
Rainforest Wild Adventure combines adventure and wildlife, allowing visitors choose their own level of exploration. We found that many of the activities under Adventure+ manageable for most visitors. With the opening of the new phase, Rainforest Wild Adventure East, the park’s total number of Adventure+ activities to nine across both zones.
Thrillseekers will want to gravitate towards the more intense, harnessed experiences under the Black Adventure label.
Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST
Spanning seven hectares, Rainforest Wild Adventure East is inspired by Afro-tropical and Madagascan landscapes.
The four themed areas within Rainforest Wild Adventure East include Riverine Forest, Red Ravine, Lemur Land and Hidden Forest.
There are five Adventure+ activities in the EAST Zone. Rather usefully, there is a board at the entrance of Rainforest Wild Adventure that shows the waiting times at each of the activities. You can also scan a QR code to book a timeslot for the Canopy Glider.
There are five Forest Treks that visitors can enjoy. These include Otter Trek (65 metres), Horn & Hoof Trek (65 metres), Misty Trek (70 metres), Split Rock Trek (140 metres) and Okapi Trek (260 metres).
Most of these treks at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST are quite short and doable, even for the young.
One way to get a sweeping overview of the park is to take the Canopy Glider. This is an Adventure+ experience that takes you over the park, where your view will be accompanied by some commentary.
It is chance to spot the animals if they are hiding or somewhere in their habitat. Over at the Riverine Forest is where you can spot the crocodilian and the Indian Gharials, pygmy hippos and more.
Animals at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST
There are four themed areas to see animals. However, do note that the animals are still getting accustomed to their new habitats and could get easily spooked. Be patient (and still) if you want to get a chance to get up close.
The Amazing Okapi
Enter Hidden Forest to meet an endangered creature – one of the most amazing animals that visitors can expect to see – the okapi. This is an endangered species from the dense forests of the Congo in Central Africa.
The okapi is making its Southeast Asia debut at Rainforest Wild Adventure East and it is the only one of its kind in any zoological park in Southeast Asia.
With a deep brown coat and striking zebra-striped legs, the okapi looks like a creature dreamed up from different animals. It closest living relative is the giraffe.
A fun fact is that the okapi remained unknown to Western science until 1901, largely because it lives quietly in thick rainforest cover, earning it a long-standing reputation as one of nature’s most elusive large mammals.
Rainforest Wild Adventure is home to four okapis, comprising two pairs that arrived from the Berlin Zoo. We were fortunate to see two of them up close, grazing gracefully in the Hidden Forest. However, take note that you may not see all of them at any one point in time as they may take turns in the enclosure.
Lemur Land
Lemur Land is also a place to hang while looking for different types of lemurs. There are also different species of birds like a stork and ducks. We saw the family of ring-tailed lemurs frolicking post-feeding times.
Hence another tip is to find out when the meal times are to see the animals out and about.
Other animals at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST include species such as pygmy hippo, eastern bongo, red river hog and Nile lechwe.
Adventure+ at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST
Visitors can choose to go on five Adventure+ experiences in Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST.
They are: Canopy Glider, Primate Climb, Ravine Swing, Split Rock Summit and Treetop Traverse.
To decide on which experience to try first, visitors can check the wait times on the board at the entrance or check the Mandai app for updates throughout their visit.
Canopy Glider
We loved the Canopy Glider for its bird’s eye view of the park. We can even spot raptors soaring while gliding 500 metres above ground. Each session lasts about 10 minutes and it was not a scary ride since it went at a reasonable pace that allowed us to listen to the commentary and look out for the animals.
For adventurers who want to take their phone along for the ride, do note that the phones have to be secured either via a wrist strap or a pouch.
Ravine Swing
The Ravine Swing was an exciting one. Do note that riders will have to be weighed before taking the swing. The weight difference for riders sitting together has to be less than 20 kg.
Soar 8 metres above ground and swing to your heart’s delight after a brief plunge.
Split Rock Summit
If you love the adrenaline, try Split Rock Summit at Lemur Land. Rappel down after climbing atop the rock and enjoy sweeping views of the park.
Treetop Traverse
Treetop Traverse is a 125-metre harnessed course through the treetops via rope bridges and wooden planks. Try to spot the okapi from above!
Primate Climb
Scale a 10-metre tall strangler fig on Primate Climb for an elevated vantage point of Diana monkeys in their habitats close by!
Proper footwear is necessary for the activities, rubber shoes are provided at each activity if needed.
Phone pouches are also available to use for those wishing to take pictures while on the Adventure+ experiences.
Play Areas and Family-friendly Amenities
Families can look out for four play areas within Rainforest Wild Adventure East. Three playgrounds and one playroom await families!
Canopy Playground
Canopy Playground is located next to the Canopy Glider and ideal for children who are unable to take the ride. It has two slides and climbing nets to ascend or descend to the ground floor where the washrooms can be found.
Log Playground
Another playground is inspired by trees. The Log playground has a short climbing ramp and steps that lead up to a slide.
It also has a swing that can be used by the differently abled.
Lemur Playground
The third playground is found at Lemur Land. It consists of mini trampolines where visitors can jump and pretend to be lemurs jumping from tree to tree.
Wild Tales
The fourth play area is found at Rangers Retreat, the restaurant located next to Lemur Land. The rainforest-themed play area is air-conditioned, with multimedia tools to interact with and centred around folktales about African animals.
One may also ask if the park is family-friendly. Given its sheltered walkways that shield visitors from the harsh sunrays or rain, we think that Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST is thoughtfully weatherproof with smooth pathways that are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
There are also nursing rooms around the park for families – one located at the entrance, another nearer Rangers Retreat.
Food & Beverage at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST
Two sit-down options are available: Rangers Pitstop at the entrance and Randers Retreat.
Rangers Pitstop is a cafe that also serves Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream while Rangers Retreat is a restaurant offering mains and sides.
We tried out Rangers Retreat for lunch and it did not disappoint. The Lamb Brittie Potje (African lamb stew) had really tender and flavourful mutton.
The Grilled Lemon Cajun Chicken was cooked to perfection with a lovely blend of spices.
Desserts like the Brandy Pudding and South African Malva Pudding were sweet treats we couldn’t resist. They were well-presented with vanilla ice-cream and berries on the side.
Mains are priced from $16, while drinks are priced from $4.50.
A plus point of Rangers Retreat was the play area for the kids right next to it. While adults are busy dining, kids can have some play time within reach.
Mandai Wildlife Centre at Rainforest Wildlife Adventure EAST
One section that is getting ready is the Mandai Wildlife Centre. It allows visitors to have a peek at what happens behind-the-scenes when animals are rescued, injured or sick.
There are rooms to peek into like the Intensive Care Ward and Treatment Room where visitors can see how the animals are cared for.
Soft Opening of Rainforest Wild Adventure
To mark the soft opening of Rainforest Wild Adventure, Mandai Wildlife Group has teamed up with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia to launch National Geographic Pop-Ups in Singapore for the first time.
The retail shops at East and West will feature National Geographic-themed spaces, featuring fan-favourite National Geographic Apparel collections.
For the duration of the pop-ups, Rainforest Wild Adventure’s retail stores will also feature interior design and displays inspired by stunning National Geographic imagery – bringing a love for the natural world closer to home in Singapore and at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
Rainforest Wild Adventure East will soft-open daily from 20 May 2026, 9 am to 6 pm (last admission at 5 pm).
Park tickets include entry to both zones, and visitors can travel between the two via free shuttle services.
The M1 East-West shuttle connects the eastern and western clusters of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
As part of a soft opening promotion, all ticket holders will enjoy access to nine Adventure+ activities on weekdays and up to five activities on weekends. Additional activities are available for separate purchase.
Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST

There are wide elevated walkways with sheltered rest stops that wind their way through the park. This makes Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST accessible to all including families with strollers and wheelchair users. It also provides opportunities for easy strolls to view diverse rainforest landscapes and animals.

For a more rugged experience, visitors can also venture along forest trails scattered with fallen logs, boulders, streams and bridges.
Want to amp up the adrenalin levels? You can purchase add-on experiences and guided tours offering high-element traverses across rock faces, freefall jumps and challenging caving adventures.

A visit to Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST is a chance to embark on a multi-layered rainforest adventure with 8 zones filled with animal encounters for delightful surprises.
These zones can be reached by either elevated walkways or you can get closer to nature along one of the Forest Treks.
The elevated walkways provide universal access and are suitable for those in wheelchairs or kids in prams.
There are seven different Forest Treks that criss-cross the park. These are the:
- Log Crossing Trek
- Karst Loop Trek
- Forest Floor Trek
- Root Hollow Trek

We definitely recommend taking these Forest Treks as they provide you with ground level perspective of the forest environment. We also enjoyed all the different elements such as the bridges and stepping stones that can be found along the trails.
Ranger Talks
Look out for Ranger Talks that will be held throughout key zones of the park such as The Karsts, Forest Floor, Watering Hole and more.
These daily sessions will provide you with a deeper understanding of the forest-dwelling fauna that thrive in the diverse layers of the rainforest. Part of the fun is chancing upon the Ranger Talks as you explore the park. Alternatively, you can plan your experience around these informative sessions as well.
Here are more details about the different zones that you can find at Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST.
Zone 1: Entrance Gorge
Upon entering into Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST, you will find yourself at the Entrance Gorge.
This area is designed to mimic the edge of a natural rainforest and features emergent trees that make you feel as though you are right at a forest’s edge. A habitat pond at this location is home to various freshwater species including the Asian arowana, Southern river terrapin.
Zone 2: The Karsts
From the Entrance Gorge, head to the left to reach The Karsts zone. This is modelled after a limestone landscape where jagged formations peek through the canopy.
This open-concept habitat is home to the François’ langur. Here, you can enjoy views of the primates swinging and leaping through the landscape, one of Rainforest Wild Asia’s most scenic backdrops.
If you take the Karst Loop Trek, you will make your way across boulders and logs as you cross a stream and then take a suspended bridge to cross the rocky landscape.
Zone 3: The Outpost
Take a break at Rangers Cafe at The Outpost for a quick bite and drink before continuing your adventure. The Outpost also houses the park’s camping ground. It can accommodate 20 dome tents and offers facilities like a classroom and shower areas for campers.
Zone 4: Forest Floor
Next, enter into the Forest Floor where you will have to navigate your way past under a fallen tree as you make the descent through the rich, nutrient-dense environment.
Here you can encounter different animals like the Hog deer, axis deer, lesser mousedeer, elongated tortoise and Asian brown tortoise.
If you head off the elevated path, you will walk along the Forest Floor Trek where you can climb a preserved heritage staircase and explore the roots of the rainforest on the Root Hollow Trek.
Zone 5: Rock Cascade
The Rock Cascade is one of the highlights at Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST and home to the majestic Malayan tiger.
Make your way across vegetation and landscapes from tall grasses and bamboo groves to majestic trees as you ascend up from the Forest Floor to the Rock Cascade.
You can watch the awesome cats show off their power and agility as they wander through tunnels, traverse rocky formations and navigate cascading waterfalls.
Cross a root bridge to venture deeper into the habitat and you may be rewarded with a special view of the tiger on its rocky lookout.
In this zone, you will also find two of three flex habitats that house a rotating group of predator and prey species. You will find different animals such as red dholes and babirusas featured at various times of the day.
Zone 6: The Canopy

Enter The Canopy through controlled gates and get a glimpse into life at the treetops and chance encounters with species like the Javan langur and siamang.
Be sure to spot a resident pair of dashing red-shanked douc langurs, who don’t seem to mind a constant flux of primate paparazzi taking their photos! Keep a safe distance from the langurs so as to give them space to frolic around.
There is a 180 square metre span of Langur Walking Nets where you can leap amongst the langurs, high above the ground moving through the treetops just like these incredible primates.
It is also a chance to get a unique perspective of the rainforest.
From the top, you may also be able to spot ground-dwelling wildlife like the endangered Philippine spotted deer. As these are chanced encounters, don’t hesitate to speak with the friendly staff who will be able to point out these animals to you.
Zone 7: Watering Hole
The Watering Hole is the largest zone in Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST. It features meandering elevated walkways and showcases the vital role water plays in shaping the ecosystem. Navigate across and along the streams through boulders, fallen trees, suspended
bridges and walkways on the Upper Stream Trek and Lower Stream Trek.
You can catch sight of the Malayan tapir roaming the forest floor.
The Malayan sun bear can also found foraging amongst the trees.
Other species at the Watering Hole include the Estuarine crocodile, babirusa, bearded pig, red dhole.
Zone 8: The Cavern
One of the most stunning zones within Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST is the 220 metre Cavern.
Its awe-inspiring structure is inspired by the world-famous Mulu Caves in Sarawak, one of the largest and most intricate cave systems in Southeast Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore cave chambers and rock formations.
If you are wondering how they managed to make The Cavern look so realistic, this was because of a collaboration with the Sarawak Forestry Department. The design team scanned the actual rock features of Mulu Caves and faithfully recreated the ancient rock formations that took millions of years to form.
Creatures that you will find at The Cavern include the Madagascar hissing cockroaches, Soro brook carp, Blind cave fish, Cave racer, and Asian black scorpion
End your visit to Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST at the oculus where sunlight pours into the dark cavern, creating a stunning photo opportunity.
