Experience Putting Out A Fire And Rescuing A “Casualty” At The SCDF Showcase At S’pore Discovery Centre

Want to know what it is like to be rescuing a “casualty” or extinguishing a fire? These are some of the activities that can be found at the SCDF Showcase at S’pore Discovery Centre from 12 to 15 February and 19 to 22 February 2019.

Taking place at the tentage outside of the S’pore Discovery Centre, it is an opportunity to get hands-on and learn about the capabilities of the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

Activity stations at the SCDF Showcase at S’pore Discovery Centre include a burning car where participants can use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire under the hood.

Using a stretcher at the SCDF Showcase, S'pore Discovery CentreFour people can work together to lift a stretcher laded with weights and move around a course. This activity simulates the process of evacuating a casualty from a danger zone.

The equipment used by the Singapore Civil Defence Force is also on display at the showcase.

WinchTry working a winch with a pyramidal frame that is used to lift people up.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force rescue dogs will also be making appearances on Wednesday, 13 February 2019, 11.30 am and 3 pm, and Friday, 15 February 2019, 1.30 pm and 3 pm.
