Inspired by grassland creatures, the Yishun Boardwalk Playground invites kids to flutter over for a dose of fun at a gigantic butterfly playground, along with a bumble bee and other animals too.
Yishun Boardwalk Butterfly and Bee Grassland Playground
As you approach the Butterfly and Bee Grassland Playground at Yishun Boardwalk, it is easy to be taken in by how impressive it looks.
The most eye-catching play feature here is a giant butterfly with its wings outstretched.

Kids can climb up into the play structure using a set of climbing ropes found underneath. Inside, they can crawl through the beautiful fractals of the butterfly as they make their way up to the top of the yellow slide.
There is a smaller butterfly play structure beside the bigger butterfly.
The main butterfly and the smaller butterfly are connected via a “sky bridge”.
To the side is a black and yellow bee play structure, complete with a few honeycomb cells as part of its design. Kids can dart inside and play, just like a busy bee.
We liked how the bee is connected to the butterfly via a Wildflower Tower, which even has interesting leaf-shaped steps. A hanging cocoon a provides a space where kids can hide away.
The Butterfly and Bee Grassland Playground is designed for kids between the ages of 5 to 12 years old.
Grasshopper and Cricket Playground
Younger kids between the ages of 2 to 5 years old are not left out of the fun either.
Just next to the Butterfly and Bee Grassland Playground, carrying on the woodland theme at the Yishun Boardwalk playground is the Grasshopper and Cricket Playground.
Here, the two insects occupy a little playground that even has a tunnel that kids an crawl-through. There is also a rope that kids can make use of to reach the top of the mound.
Kids can make way up the back of the brown cricket, and then cross the netted bridge to reach the green grasshopper. The back of the grasshopper hides a group slide for some swooshing fun.
Under the brown cricket, you will also find hammock seat where kids can sway about.
A bug themed see-saw with wooden seats can also be found close by.
There is also a series of raised platforms that resemble a caterpillar – great for younger kids to practise their balance and gain some confidence moving around the playground.
Yishun Boardwalk
Yishun Boardwalk estate can be found along Yishun Avenue 6. The playgrounds at Yishun Boardwalk are located in front of Block 337C.
