Little Day Out’s Love Our Earth Virtual Camp aims to raise the eco-awareness of children between the ages of 7 and 11, while everyone has a merry time together.

During the online camp, there will be interactive activities like craft-cycling – creating your own toys, growing edible microgreens and even making a home composting kit.

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: CreativeKids - Nature @ Your Doorstep

Grace Lim from Creativekids will be teaching campers about nature found at our doorsteps, highlighting the wonders of our natural environment within our neighbourhoods.

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Love Our Earth Camp - Craftcyclng Fun with Sophia Huang

Join children’s author Sophia Huang as she shows campers how to be resourceful and creative, by upcycling trash and materials at home into toys and crafts.

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Love Our Earth Camp - The Music Scientist

Fusing music and science, The Music Scientist will teach campers about the atmosphere, seasons, the solar system and all that makes our Earth a liveable planet. Through the use of engaging Science visuals, catchy songs and various hands-on activities, The Music Scientist provides a holistic learning experience.

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Love Our Earth Camp - Kidz Treehouse
LDO Reader Special: Enjoy 10% off multiple activity kits (retailing at $49.90/set) at Kidz Treehouse store. Use the promotion code LDOKTH at checkout.

Kidz Treehouse will teach campers how every day is Earth Day and how to go “zero-waste”, proving that everyone, no matter how young or old, can make a positive impact on the world! This segment also comes with the biodegradable Grow Your Own Greens Busy-Kidz Box, ready for your kids to get connected to nature and grow some edible microgreens.

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Love Our Earth Camp - City Sprouts

Lastly, kids will get hands-on with City Sprouts, through a virtual tour of their food and social hub as well as their urban farm at Henderson Road, and learn how to turn food scraps into useful compost!

Survivor Virtual Camp (9 to 11 September 2020)

Super September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Survivor Programme

Kids who have an adventurous streak will love what’s lined up at the Survivor Virtual Camp.

During the two-and-a-half-day camp, kids will get a boost to their bag of skills as they participate in exciting activities! Kids can flex their creative muscles navigating out-of-the-ordinary, yet fun, situations.

Among the various activities which kids can look forward to at Little Day Out’s Survivor Virtual Camp are lessons on how to use a compass and map, and a demonstration of “survival skills” required to spend a night out in the forest.

Super September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Survivor - Nature Explorers School

Nature Explorers School, a provider of forest school classes in the outdoors, will be teaching a lesson on Survival 101. Plus, learn how to set up a tent at home using basic materials such as a groundsheet, string, suction caps and towels!

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Survivor Camp - Adventure 21

Adventure 21, an outdoor and travel outfitters one-stop store at Eu Tong Sen Street, will give us insights on the gear and equipment for the big outdoors. Campers will be let in on tips and tricks including how to use certain adventure tools and how to pack for their next adventure in different terrains.

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Survivor Camp - Better Trails

Better Trails, a social enterprise founded to promote the ethical use and responsible enjoyment of the outdoors, will be demonstrating how kids can minimise the potential impact of their activities and “Leave No Trace” in the outdoors. What’s more, kids will get awarded with the internationally-recognised Leave No Trace Awareness Certificate after this session!

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: CreativeKids - Documenting Nature's Wonders

A great way to remember our adventures is through journalling. Grace Lim from Creativekids will share tips on enjoying nature in a deeper way through nature journaling and sharing nature photography.

September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Survivor Camp - Osportz

Orienteering is the sport of navigation and running. Orienteering Singapore will give campers a fun taster of this unique sport, showing them how to use maps and apply creative problem-solving skills to see where their decisions lead them!

Little Day Outings

Complementing the two virtual camps are two Little Day Outings for kids and families that will be held during the September school holidays 2020.

Super September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Nature Discover Walk Little Day Outing

Echoing the theme of “Love Our Earth”, campers can embark on a nature discovery walk to uncover the hidden side of Pearl’s Hill City Park with Better Trails. The outing will include a heritage tour of the “Upper Barracks” of the Straits Settlement Police back in 1934. This building also houses a secret bunker that was used as the former Command Operation Room!

The nature walk and heritage tour outing will last about two plus hours and is recommended for three-year-olds and above, plus their parents. It will be held in the morning of 12 September 2020.

Super September Holiday Virtual Camps 2020: Survivor Camp Little Day Outing - Orienteering

Kids who are gung-ho enough can sign up for the ‘Orienteering as a Sport’ Little Day Outing with Osportz, get active and explore the heritage site of Phoenix Park, where the British and Singapore Governments were formerly located.

The mission, if you accept it, is to navigate the concentric grounds of Phoenix Park with nothing but a geo tag and compass! This outing is recommended for six-year-olds and above, with parents. It is expected to take between one to two hours in the late afternoon, depending on how fast participants can complete the checkpoints.
