The free-roaming VR experience invites up to five participants at a time to explore the themes of resilience, friendship, ingenuity, and perseverance.

Equipped with wireless VR headsets, participants move freely in a semi-guided free-roaming environment, allowing for natural interactions within an enchanted forest. The experience follows Sang Kancil on a magical journey through an enchanted forest guided by a mystical Nymph.

As they move through the virtual world, they will encounter characters, and engage with interactive moments throughout the journey.

They are invited to help the distressed Kancil find her way home, reframing the original storyline with a more empathetic, participatory tone.

With a multi-player format, each 30-minute session serves to strengthen bonding within intergenerational families or amongst friends.

Participants will be guided by prompts and only need to engage using simple, intuitive interactions with their hands — without the need for controllers.

It is recommended age is 8 years and above. Children below the age of 10 must be
supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times during the experience.

Community Themes and Thinking Out of the Box

Community Themes and Thinking Out of the Box

The VR experience draws on themes of bonding and a sense of community, while promoting a growth mindset that encourages audiences to think out of the box when tackling challenges.

“In this virtual world, grandparents, parents and children can come together— searching for a magic banana, distracting a tiger, and encouraging Kancil to overcome challenges,” said Christopher Chew, Founder and Managing Director of Avventura, and the Experiential Producer of this project.

Unlike conventional VR experiences designed for individual use, the experience holds space for connection and reflection.

It also serves as a reminder to remain resilient while caring for others, especially in today’s uncertain and volatile environment!
