Homegrown bakery PrimaDeli is celebrating National Day 2020 with a lion-shaped cake, called the Mane Mane Cake. Along with this “roaring” tribute to the Lion City, other sweet treats for Singapore’s birthday include red-and-white bakes.
Mane Mane Cake – PrimaDeli Lion Cake
PrimaDeli’s Mane Mane Cake is a cute, edible version of the fabled lion of legend. The lion’s mane is piped on top of a moist and fluffy vanilla sponge cake filled with fresh cream. The special edition National Day cake is completed with a hand-drawn lion face.
The Mane Mane Cake is available at $15 for a 300g cake.
Don’t feel like having an entire lion-shaped cake? PrimaDeli has also created another baked treat for National Day – Lion Bread. The soft bread comes with a topper featuring a lion holding up its fingers in a heart-shape and with an I heart SG face tattoo. It can be purchased for $2.80 per piece.
Celebrate with Red and White National Day Treats
Red and white are the colours for the month of August.
To add a dash of the national colours to your National Day celebration, PrimaDeli is selling red and white cupcakes. These vanilla and cinnamon cupcakes are priced at $27 for a set of nine.
PrimaDeli is also selling a Limited Edition Strawberry Swiss Roll. These can be purchased at $5.50 for National Day 2020.
“National Day might be a quieter affair this year but PrimaDeli hopes to liven up our small-scale celebrations at home. Our pastry chefs have put thought into crafting delicious new treats for Singaporeans to enjoy with their family. We have chosen to incorporate the lion motif to the Mane Mane Cake and Lion Bread to represent strength as we overcome this pandemic together,” said Mr George Lim, General Manager of PrimaDeli.
