McDonald’s Satay Burgers: Hawker-Inspired Tastes

McDonald's Satay Burgers: Hawker-Inspired

Starting from Thursday, 25 July 2024, you can try the melting pot of Singapore’s hawker favourites inspired by a well-loved charcoal-grilled delicacy Satay! There are two McDonald’s Satay burgers to choose from – Chicken or Beef.

For those who remember their McDonald’s offerings, they would have recalled the Shiok Shiok Satay burger from a decade ago. This year’s variant differs in the level of spice with just a tinge of spice in the burger that even non-spice folks will love.

The McDonald’s Menu Innovation team spent the usual 12 months fine-tuning the recipe and ensured the peanut bits and sauce was of the right size and texture. Even  the original Satay Club hawkers were approached as taste testers!

McDonald’s Satay Burger Taste Test

McDonald's Satay Burger Taste Test

The McDonald’s Satay Chicken Burger reminds one of the freshly grilled satay served at the hawker table – succulent, rich in flavour and so tender! Chicken thigh is used for the burger, each piece generously coated with a rich, roasted satay sauce paired with cucumber slices and onions.

McDonald's Satay Beef Burger

For those who prefer beef, try the McDonald’s Satay Beef Burger where classic satay meets juicy beef patties, lathered in rich satay sauce. It is also topped with crisp onions and fresh cucumbers. For fans of the classic cheeseburger or Quarter Pounder, this might be your preference.

Pair the burgers with crispy Crisscut Fries, Thai Milk Tea Frappe and Coconut soft serve for the tastiest National Day treats.

Return of the Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Burger on 8 August

Don’t miss the ha-mazing delight of the Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Burger which will make a comeback on 8 August. The crispy chicken patty drizzled with fragrant prawn paste dressing is bound to tantalise your taste buds with a harmonious blend of textures and flavours.

Our Verdict

If you are wondering if the new McDonald’s Satay Burgers get our nod of approval, our verdict after trying the new burgers is a resounding yes!

Our Verdict for the McDonald's Satay Burger

We were undecided on which variant was better but we think it will boil down to personal preference. I loved the Satay Chicken Burger for its tenderness and strong flavours which paired well with the crunchy cucumber slices. In comparison, the Satay Beef Burger had a more subtle taste.

The spice level was perfect us since we cannot not stomach much spice. Even children can enjoy the Satay Burgers.

Crisscut Fries

We loved the Crisscut Fries – who wouldn’t love fries in bigger formats! This is probably one of our favourite fries variant off the menu.

Coconut Softserve

To end the meal, we are glad the Coconut Softserve is back as it was a refreshingly sweet to end the treat.

Don’t miss the coco-licious sensation with the Coconut Cone, Coconut OREO McFlurry, and Coconut Hot Fudge Sundae. The Coconut OREO McFlurry blends creamy coconut soft serve with crunchy OREO toppings combining tropical sweetness with the indulgence of chocolate.

May the flavours slay and “sa-tay” as memorable burger flavours in celebration of our nation’s birthday!
