It is always exciting when the National Day celebrations head to the heartlands, bringing the activities and action closer to the people. For NDP at the Heartlands 2023, there will be five locations around the island where Singaporeans can enjoy the festivities.
NDP at the Heartlands 2023 will take place at five heartland locations over the weekend of 5 to 6 August. Amongst the activities planned are performances, sports try-out and more.
There will also be fireworks at these locations on 9 August.
NDP at the Heartlands 2023 Locations
The five locations where NDP at the Heartlands will be held in 2023 are:
- ActiveSG Bedok Sport Centre
- ActiveSG Jurong West Sport Centre
- ActiveSG Toa Payoh Sport Centre
- ActiveSG Woodlands Sport Centre
- Our Tampines Hub
The activities at the NDP @ Heartlands locations will take place from 4 pm to 9 pm on both 5 and 6 August 2023, with the exception of Our Tampines Hub where there will only be activities on 6 August.
GetActive! Singapore Heartland Festivals (5 & 6 August)
Amongst the highlights of the heartland celebrations are activities organised together with Sport Singapore. These include sports tryouts for sports such as basketball, floorball, table tennis and more.
There will also be archery, skateboarding, Nerf and Zorb ball activities.
To add to the festivities, there will also be bouncy castles, snack booths and kampung games. Live performances will also be held at the heartland sites. These will feature musicians and artists such as The Island Voices and Hear65.
Do take note that admission to the five festival sites will be ticketed to better manage the crowd.
Details on ticketing will be available on the NDP website from 12 pm on 12 July 2023.
Fireworks at the Heartlands (9 August)
There will also be fireworks display at the five heartland locations on National Day, 9 August 2023.
The fireworks at the heartlands will coincide with the fireworks at the Padang.
This is expected to take place between 8.15 pm and 8.25 pm in the evening.
Public viewing at the fireworks sites will be on a first come, first served basis. The sites will open to the public from 6 pm.
Earlier in the evening of 9 August, the public can also keep a look out for the NDP Fly Our Flag and the RSAF55 Island Flypast starting from around 5.30 pm.
