
My Community Festival is a ground-up initiative that showcases Singapore’s community stories through immersive tours, tastings and other cultural and heritage experiences. The festival aims to connect people from all walks of life by providing opportunities to forge new connections and expand social networks.
This year, the My Community Festival will feature over 60 unique events across 10 programme series. Here are some programmes you can take part in.

After Hours @ My Community
What happens on our little island at night? More than you would think. See the neighbourhood come alive with stories from the past and taking exciting tours at the different parts of Singapore when you join an “After Hours” tour. Learn about their heritage stories and see what it is like for these communities while the rest of the country unwind and sleep.

Prefer catching a sunrise? There are also Sunrise @ My Community or Sunset @ My Community tours. Join community members and uncover a side of Singapore that is only seen by the early-risers or join Singapore’s very own community of sunset chasers and find out what got them started, and what these breath-taking views of nature mean to them.
Welcome to My Island Home
Did you know that one of the most exclusive locations in Singapore appears for 10 minutes every month? Join the “Welcome to My Island Home” tour to the sandbanks of Pulau Hantu and discover more about the Southern Islands from current and former villagers who will share stories of their lives and the various communities on the islands.
Meet My Craftsman
From songkoks to joss sticks, hear from traditional craftsmen as they share stories of their trades at the My Community Festival 2021, and what keeps them going. Participants will also get to try their hand at age-old crafts such as stone engraving, knife sharpening, garland making, pottery, traditional joss stick-making, lantern-painting, rangoli design, Peranakan beading and more.
Cuba Gula-Gula Saya
Discover how sweets from different countries are made from traditional sweet makers. Participants in the Cuba Gula-Gula Saya event will step into the homes and communities of 13 home bakers and heritage sweet makers and have a taste of some of our nation’s most popular desserts and hidden gems such as Russian Blini and Japanese Wagashi. They can also try their hand at making such treats for themselves.
24 Hours @ My Community
Exploring two of Singapore’s most beloved neighbourhoods – take a tour to Tiong Bahru and Holland Village. At the My Community Festival 2021, explore the various facets, people and stories of these older estates, and learn more about their transformation over the years without giving up their timeless charm.
